I absolutely love the blue chambray shirt on you. I sure hope it resonates with you because you look fabulous in it!!! Thank you for your inspirational advice. My kind of lady, practical, authentic, and wise.😘😎

You are so welcome! And I must admit that I donated the chambray shirt back to the thrift store. 🫣 I just didn't feel authentic so I wasn't wearing it. 💙

Kristen These videos were chocked full of helpful info about building outfits and a working wardrobe. Also, how to think through what works for us personally. Thanks for thoughts about vacation wardrobe too!! I love the scarf and the added interest when you let out the jeans hem. 🙏Chawntay

Style hacks....with long sleeve button downs I will tie at the waist and scrunch up the sleeves. I do love to wear them open as a layer I will take off when it warms up. After watching your video I realized I do not really have button down cardigans at all.

Enjoyed these 2 videos and appreciated your talking about what works and what didn't for you and the reasons why. I like practical too and in my climate the sweater tied round the neck over a coat seems pointless. Like your hair in these videos being just a bit longer perhaps.

The layering is great for traveling when flying and needing or wanting to only pack a carry on! I am just concerned so many layers would be uncomfortable and or I wouldn’t be able to move my arms freely!

Oh how I wish you had links to the clothes you show. Love your style! Any ideas on where to find a scarf similar to yours? Where is the skirt from?
@KristenCainStyle9 ай бұрын
I don't share links very often because most of my clothing is thrifted and seasons old. The skirt is from Lea & Viola. I'd never heard of that brand. I bought it secondhand. The scarf is Saachi. It was also thrifted. Originally from Anthropologie. I remember it from when I worked there. Hope that helps. I'm always happy to share the brands, just ask! ;-)

These 2 videos are SO fun. It's like math...Fashion Math! I absolutely love stripes too.

Glad you like them! And YES! Style Math is a concept that I teach inside Style Therapy!!
@ppuyle19 ай бұрын
Very fun concept! I’d love to find a great scarf like that! I just seldom see them anywhere! Suggestions?
@KristenCainStyle9 ай бұрын
This one was thrifted but it's originally from Anthropologie. I always look at scarves in secondhand stores because women tend to edit them out of their wardrobes. I also buy scarves when I travel. Usually from street venders.
@en90789 ай бұрын
I love the way you show how to layer different pieces together, especially all the combinations with that versatile stripe top. It would be so helpful if you could provide info or links to the pieces if they are still available for purchase or suggest alternatives if they aren’t.
@KristenCainStyle9 ай бұрын
Thanks for your kind comments. I'm glad this was helpful. I'm always happy to provide more info and links for items when asked. I don't usually share links in the videos/descriptions because most of my wardrobe is thrifted and also, I'm not encouraging women to buy more. Let me know if there's ever something you'd like more info about. 💖

I hate socks with a flat…but what to do in the winter? Ideas?
@KristenCainStyle2 ай бұрын
It’s definitely a challenge to stay warm and stylish in the winter. If you don't want to adopt the current socks with flats trend, I'd opt for boots with a great sock instead.

I think my problem with my denim shirt is that it's not feminine. Mine is a Ralph Lauren and a classic. I wear it open as a light layer; buttoned up it feels too confining.

Wow. Effortless style is ME. Can you suggest a source for the striped sweater and red cardi? They would really extend my wardrobe. I’m new to your channel, but will be back!
@KristenCainStyle9 ай бұрын
Welcome, Kathy! Thanks for watching. The striped sweater is from Zara in Norway about 18 months ago. They do have a very similar version in stores in the US now. The red cardigan is from Lands End. I thrifted it. I believe this is the same sweater... www.landsend.com/products/womens-cotton-modal-button-front-cardigan-sweater/id_355210?attributes=28676,30936,44079 Good luck!

I'm new to your channel. Loving your styling ideas. Would you share the brand of jeans you are wearing please? And the brand of the dress shoes too please? Your hair is so pretty (I'm similar -- curly, salt/pepper). Thanks for sharing with us.
@KristenCainStyle9 ай бұрын
Yes! Thank you for your kind words! The jeans are boys Levi's. I purchased them in the fall at a vintage market. The dress shoes (ballet flats?) are Joan and David... also thrifted. Thanks for being here!

I love these types of challenges. My first Parisian Style 10x10 helped me actualize the capsule wardrobe that I'd been trying to achieve for years. And wow does it push you to style your outfits! Especially because I was posting them to IG with the hashtag. It was practically a full time job to get an acceptable shot. And then I'd see these amazing reels that some of the other girls put together. Content creation is hard work! Is your Quince cardigan the Cashmere Fisherman's cropped? I'm curious how it's wearing? I'm trying to upgrade the quality of my knitwear because I have to keep replacing pieces that are not wearing well. Sezane's knitwear is popular, but I've heard mixed reviews on its longevity. Do you own any Sezane sweaters?
@KristenCainStyle8 ай бұрын
I agree, capsules up your outfit game! And yes, creating content is hard work!! It is the Fisherman Cropped in Cashmere. It's holding up well as far as no pilling or stretching. I've worn it a lot and haven't washed it yet. I'll do that before packing it away for the season. I do have one Sezane sweater, it's the Leontine stripe in cotton. I love it!!!! I'm not super tempted by their sweaters because they often contain wool and I don't wear wool. They are beautiful!

How can you layer so many layers and be able to “move” or be comfortable (not to mention still look thin & not bulky)?!?!
@KristenCainStyle9 ай бұрын
I tend to only choose layers that are layer'able! ;-) Lightweight fabrics and thinner knits so that I can wear multiple layers at once, if needed.
@marionannmacredie9 ай бұрын

The dark jeans look great on you with all your outfits and both shoes, the green pants are also very good, and the lighter jeans are not as great. Their pant legs are still too short and wide for the oversized tops/cardigan/shirt you showed. Might be okay with slightly more fitted casual tops and with sneakers, not the refined flats.. Love the scarf and the artisan blouse. Thanks for an interesting video. You posted it in spring, but it's suitable for this fall too.

Thanks for your input. I actually love all the pants I showed... and what works for me certainly isn't for everyone. 💕
