On my Samsung range it looks almost identical. Was able to remove the large burner and examine it as only the outer ring was working. Upon inspection I see that the element burned out at the end where it meets the contact assembly. I took a pair of needle nose pliers stretched out the element to where it was connected originally then with a small piece of steel mechanic wire about 1/2 inch long I used a pair of pliers and folded it in half. Using it as a clip to hold the element wire to the contact I slipped it in place and then crimped it tightly with the pliers. So far its working fine again. I told my wife when it quits again I will order a new burner and replace it. She asked how long will it last? I said anywhere from one day to who knows when? maybe a year or more? For now I am saving $140 so Im happy. Thanks for making this video and posting it for us to see! It helped see where the screws were to remove the burner top. Also my Samsung had similar wire disconnect plugs at the rear on each side. Hopefully this info can help someone else too.

I saw someone with a burnt element also and wondered why you couldn't somehow solder/tack weld it back together but I think your idea would actually be a better solution. :)

Thank you so much Robert, I just used the same steel mechanics wire to crimp together two ends of the heating element where it burnt and snapped, and it works perfectly fine. The reason you can't solder the heating element when it snaps is because solder melts at a very low temperature, and the heating element gets up to a VERY high temperature. What you could do is weld it together if you had a welder. Or you can just crimp it.

Good video and from finding this, it is very clear to me that I was sent the wrong heating element part for my LG glass range top. The part I ordered was substituted and it looks nothing like my heating element. When I called customer service they assured me, guaranteed the part would work. Upon finding this video - the heating elements you are installing appear to match the radiant heat of the elements in my stove. Have you repaired LG models and do you have videos with part numbers? The element I need to replace is the dual sized burner. Thank you very much.

I noticed a burn spot on the back of that top. If you noticed it too, is it something that needs to be concerned about? Wondering what caused it. Thank you for your video. Very useful information.

My original burner only has one connector on the left side. All the new ones have two, like the ones in your video (one yellow and one red wire). Is there any way for me to make the newer replacement work despite only having one wire? Can I split it into two or something? What's the difference between the yellow and the red wire? Positive and negative? If so, I wonder how the original can work with only one signal going though.

I make it a habit of spaying the terminals with a shot of WD-40 to make the connections easier to reconnect as well as cleaning the contacts. it doesn't hurt the unit at all...

Absolute nightmare. Part select sent me a replacement part . It was damaged during shipment . I noticed the new/damaged element wiring set up was different. Part select refunded my money quickly. Whirlpool/Maytag sent me the same part - un damaged but still the black wire would not fit the new part. The only way to get a modified instruction is by a technician or a video platform like KZbin . They give instructions to take the old limiter and put it on the new part but both are either welded or attached. So if your new product comes in and you have to modify you’ll still need a technician to come out so not only do you not save money you will have spent more than if you bought a new stove . WTF has happened to this country . Corporate America is killing it.

BUYER BEWARE!! This company sent me a very wrong part - the packing slip noted it is a substituted part. When I called they assured me it would work. The person that was going to do the repair said it is NOTHING like the part I need for my LG range. . It has been a week since I sent them an email with photos. When I call the voice mail says they do not have enough people to handle call volume. Cannot even leave a message for call back. If I don't hear back in another week I will be filing with the BBB. I am NOT paying for shipping of an incorrect part - they PartsSelect needs to provide an RMA.

my oven heats up without igniting it, someone knows it can be
@partselect6 жыл бұрын
Hi Sergio. This could be one of several issues. It could be a shorted element that would be using the leg of power that is not controlled by the thermostat and ground. You can open the oven and see if the broiler element is evenly heating up or only a part of it is glowing. If only a part of it is glowing then it is a defective broiler element. The other issue could be a control problem. If you have one control that selects bake, timed bake, clean, broil, etc. and another knob that controls the temperature setting. Could be a defective control. If you have a model with a control panel it could be a defective control panel. I hope this helps with your repair, but if not, you can send us your make and model number, and we can do more research for you!
