illegal in Canada, I live with a broken spine, in two parts thanks to surgery, and I had to justify why I was using my Hanbo, with a supporting loop on it which takes about 30% of my weight as I've worn my wrists out, using canes and a walker, I'm also 70. I also have an edged, egg-shaped section about 12 inches long, roughly 6-8 inches from the Bottom of the stick. Which assists me in getting up when I fall in the winter, They approved it, but they are taking sticks away, Ball head sticks are banned. I work out with them but wouldn't take them out. I like the way you demonstrate these, more simple and clear. Many thanks. Mine are Rattan to save my wrists. Now I've been in my late 60s and 70's my fighting days are Back, due to Homeless camps stuck in a retirement community, 3 to 4 times now I have fought off 2 or 3 attackers with my stick which makes them damm mad!

Thanks for the video. I know that I haven't been around much, but I haven't stopped completely. I'm still walking every day, doing a few pushups, doing that step thing that you taught, and doing some squats. (I don't do the squats every day.) I alternate between a swinging club routine and a cane and staff routine. I'm having to repair my heavy bag because the canvas is ripping at the hanging straps. I'm also doing some work on my driveway. That means carrying buckets of gravel or brick fragments. I can't work very long on anything, and if I move too much rock or brick, then I don't do my routines. Even so, I feel that carrying a bucket of bricks or rocks is exercise. I also tried to plant some shrubs and trees. That means hauling water across the yard to water them. With my health issues, I do spend a great deal of time in the recliner. However, I get out and do the hardest stuff I can do for as much as I can do it before I have to retreat to the recliner again. I'm not gaining much endurance, but I'm a little bit stronger than I was. My "kali sticks" are just a cheap broom handle that I bought at Home Depot and cut to length. I added a little hockey tape to the grip. Maybe the kali purists wouldn't like the hockey tape, but I do. The other reason to do this kind of exercise is to force the right brain to left brain and back transition. As I've said in the past, my therapist did kali, and she recommends this kind of stuff to force the brain to transition back and forth. She likes me to do this with the kali sticks or swinging clubs to delay further mental decline. I'm still trying to learn to control my sticks so that I can barely feel them touch my shoulders on the back swing. If I don't touch my shoulder but can feel the breeze from the stick getting to within an inch of my shoulder, I consider that a success.

Nice video. I am a senior and I carry a kamagong stick shaking it while doing my daily walk. Every night i spend at least one hour shaking a kamagong stick left and right \, up and down walking around the house when every body is asleep.

This could not have come at a better time, I got rusty during lock downs... but now I have this video and can really get back into it. I really appreciate how you slow down the steps so much, making it easier for me to see what’s going on. I'm going blind, fast action is just blurry to me. Oh, I got a pair of escrima sticks and now that I have a bag I have something to hit! Striking the air just doesn't feel the same as hitting the bag 😅

I wouldn't like to be a thief entering your house! I had a pair of these eskrima sticks and I was practising on my dads beautiful palm trees! Mate he almost killed me because I was taking chunks out of the palm tree. 😆 lol. I bought a second hand 90 kg punching bag and practice on that afterwards!
