Lost in a world of confusion, a boy in despair, Wandering aimlessly, burdened by the wear and tear. In the echoes of silence, he couldn't be heard, Searching for identity, lost within the herd. (Pre-Chorus) But then a melody whispers, a song of hope and grace, Guiding him gently to a brighter, accepting space. (Chorus) Oh, sing with me, let the music unfurl, A tale of transformation, a trans girl. In the notes and chords, she finds her voice, Breaking free from shadows, making her choice. (Verse 2) Through the verses of struggle, a harmony unfolds, A story of resilience, as her true self molds. With every beat of the heart, a rhythm unfurls, The boy finds strength, becoming a happy trans girl. (Pre-Chorus) In the symphony of acceptance, she learns to soar, Shedding the weight of judgment, forevermore. (Chorus) Oh, sing with me, let the music unfurl, A tale of transformation, a trans girl. In the notes and chords, she finds her voice, Breaking free from shadows, making her choice. (Bridge) A bridge of understanding, connecting the past, Embracing her journey, she's found at last. The melody of self-love, a powerful swirl, As the boy transforms into a happy trans girl. (Chorus) Oh, sing with me, let the music unfurl, A tale of transformation, a trans girl. In the notes and chords, she finds her voice, Breaking free from shadows, making her choice. (Outro) So let the song linger, a beacon of light, For those finding themselves in the darkest night. In the music, courage and acceptance twirl, A triumphant anthem of a happy trans girl. What are you thinks about my song?
@SophieFox947
@SophieFox947 Жыл бұрын
I am writing this at 1am, so I may have gone slightly overboard, but I hope you at least read it. This is coming from a music enthusiast, but not a professional, of course, so do with that as you will. Also, this is your song, so if you don't want to tweak it in any way, don't, and agree to disagree with the stranger on the internet instead. First off; I really like the message, and a lot of the imagery is really nice, especially the link between music/song and the voice of the person in question. I personally find it a slight bit too literal, however. Like you're afraid we won't get the point. Don't worry, we will. To give you an example, you mention that she is, in fact, a trans girl in both the chorus, the second verse as well as the bridge and the outro. Now this is not *necessarily* a bad thing, depending on how the song is executed, but I think it's worth at least considering trying to switch a bit around on the scale of "literal" compared to "abstract". Another example is the fact that you do say in three different ways that the boy was lost during the first verse; he is "lost in a world of confusion", "wandering aimlessly", and "lost within the herd". In my own personal opinion (which means you are free to disagree) you could remove the mention of "a trans girl" from the chorus entirely, leaving it at the mention of "a tale of transformation", as well as the more subtle switch from masculine to feminine pronouns. Of course, this would mean you have more space for other stuff you might want to put in the song. I think the bridge can be kept as is, for a bit of an "a-hah!" for the people who didn't quite catch the meaning of the song; the effect of finally revealing in no uncertain terms what the song is about, as a lead-up to the big finale of the song can be quite powerful, depending on how the song is experienced beforehand. My favourite parts of this song are the two pre-choruses. Leaving aside the flow of the lines themselves, that I find difficult to judge without a melody, I really think they convey the core of the movement that you seemingly want to display in your song; a shift from a boy who is lost, but then finds a guiding light, to a girl, who is ready to stand on her own - she doesn't need a guide anymore, as she can already "shed the weight of judgment" by herself. Overall: I think it is a work with a solid core, that could use some polishing, with lots of space for a more nuanced message/story.

My brain randomly decided at 25 “here’s dysphoria that’s been brewing for all your life. Have fun” and while I’m still very confused since I only had that happen two days ago, hearing my voice sound girlish made me so happy and I almost cried. I have a deep voice to the point of sounding like the National Geographic narrator but within just this video you gave me a feeling of happiness over something I still don’t fully understand about me but I understand enough to know this is what I want. So thank you. Seriously.

I kinda did a lot of voice training stuff subconsciously without knowing (until my online friends mentioned it) when I started playing games online and now have a passing voice, though I do sound a bit older than I actually am (mid twenties when I'm in my late teens) and I defaulted to "hi" and "ok" being set words. I'm really sorry if this comes off as some flavor of bragging, I just think it's interesting that it's possible to have your voice shift without realizing it.

@HerSheKiss

6:22 to add to that. Besides people quickly trying to rely on pitch too much and too quickly, pitch is also just really unimportant. If you get resonance down and are able to manipulate your larynx fairly well, you can already have an incredibly feminine sounding voice. Pitch is more like icing than it is actual cake mix. It can sure help your voice sound great, but if you don't have the rest down it's really just kinda there. Lastly, PLEASE do warming ups. I don't really remember what exact warming ups I did (I went to a voice coach, so I can't give you sources either), but it's really important whenever you do anything out of the ordinary with your voice to do vocal warming ups and avoid scraping your throat as much as possible!! Best of luck to everyone's voice journey

I know I have a weak one so never pushed too much trying, however I might be get a chance at starting what's known as HRT after 2y, so I wanna give it my best shot... I can barely keep my normal "default" voice. Trying to "alter" it, for now at least, is quite painful on the throat muscles. After sitting in with my daughter's vocal therapist, this is pretty close to the exercises she was given. Sadly, don't have the paperwork for it on hand, and my memory isn't great to be able to expand on the exercises. Two massive things, don't strain your voice, take it slow at a pace your body can handle, as pushing too hard risks making the whole process a lot harder. Two, find your voice. Don't worry about "normal" ranges for things or being high enough pitch or tone. Find what feels good for you. On this note, I disagree about recording yourself. If you think about it, how often have you ever heard yourself talk from a recording? If you have, it sounds super weird. We basically never hear that voice. Additionally, our voice shifts all over the place naturally, as we get tired or more awake, as our mood shifts, or just the people we are with. Focusing too much on landing in a specific spot can cause our voice to sound fake, or worse. Aiming for a general spot and just kind of hovering around it will help our voice be more natural and allow is to shift naturally as well. So again, find your voice and where you like it to be and don't worry about where it "should be."

Your voice sounds weirdly neutral yet no questions asked a completely passing women's voice, whereas I try to overdo feminine qualities to my voice and it always sounds weird/off. I'm not sure if it's my self perception that is messed up, or if a voice like yours just has a real subtle but important quality that mine is missing. I've been a 5 Octave Dramatic Tenor Operatic Metal and Jazz singer and working on voice acting f 3or0+ years. I have a bit of a head start, ALso, Head Resonance in High PItched Metal SInging uses these techniques just in a different way. However with Voice acting I am used to doing impressions, so the only way I can sound femme, is to do impressions and accents. I am really learning a bit more about vocal Anatomy, this is Helpful, I usually do young Cyndi Lauper and Linda Belcher from Bob's Burgers, who is a male actor doing her voice so its helpful to be able to do a full conversation in her voice and accent, same with Cyndi I wasn't born too far from Philly, NJ and NY in PA and my Grandparents were Manhattan-NYC ex Pats, so the "Tri State" Nj. NY. Philly accents are easier for me to do femme. I am also trying to figure out how to femme my singing voice without sounding like an 8 yr old. I can do Cyndi Lauper Softer hi singing voice, but when I need to belt. I sound like Bruce Dickinson Again. Bjork seems to be a good femme vocal range for me. I get a bit of dysphoria now due to my singing voice more than my speaking but NEED to work on my femme voice. I came out at 44 and started HRT 4 weeks ago! Thank you for information being explained in a better way than I have seen others do. I have no Adam's Apple (I might be interex, no pronounced Brow RIdge either) so a lot of the other Neck flicking videos explainations just didn't work for me.
