Thanks, Paul! Such an interesting "peek" into wooden boat crafting skills... Perhaps you'll have another day of lousy weather soon, and we can get a more in-depth look at such caring restoration of "meaningful" craft.

@SailingKateLouise Жыл бұрын
Yes Gene, he looked quite closely at the Stornaway 18 but decided the Selway Fisher Ptarmigan as it had a larger cabin and had 10 more inches in the beam along with a drop down centre board from the skeg. It will be a fast and good looking craft I reckon. Thanks again for watching, cheers Paul

Hi Paul, this episode was really enjoyable and full of interesting boat builds and people who really enjoy boats. The section on the Catalina flying boat base was particularly interesting well done for including this. Perhaps you can do more of this type of video on wet English days Ps it’s raining right now in Medway Kent UK ! Colin

Glad you enjoyed it Colin, I will be over in the U.K. in October staying with my sister at Reading, maybe we can catchup for an English beer or two, cheers Paul sailingkatelouise@gmail.com

Don't worry I was only joking, but I will try and get up there more often to see more of his build. FYI it's Steve's second boat he built a Tammie Norrie a while ago, thanks again for watching, cheers Paul

woollahra sailing club also used to be part of the flying boat airport for the London to Sydney run. There is a scout hall nearby that I think was the mess, and the terminal is the fancy Catalina restaurant - next to the current Seaplane terminal. Sydney Seaplanes do actually have a (really small - one room) museum about the flying boat days. I think the whole of Lyne Park is man made and was created for the flying boats. Great tour! Really nice to see some of the projects they are working on up there!
