You can get a super super emergency one by appointment at an undisclosed price I'm pretty sure. But you have to do what Louis did and go to an internal affairs office somewhere I think.

Chrisoniiah Ford He got it done quick because he went to the passport office to submit it but in the UK if you do it via post which most people have to do, it can take up to a month for it to be made.

In U.S, the fastest the passport agency can create the passport takes 1 week for extra charge, and it is cheaper to go to a passport agency rather than to deliver the passport through the postal office.

Joe McGuire Your mum probably had a hard time dealing with the distance in the relationship and how often your dad had to be away. Your relationship is completely different, so I would hope she'd look at it differently. If she does kick off then you just explain why it is different and that you'll always be her little boy (without sounding patronising to you). She might just need a little reassurance :)

The cheap way to get a passport in the US takes four weeks. You have to pay an arm and a leg and have a legitimate emergency to get on the same day here. Y'all are so lucky to have a day turnaround in the UK.

When I got my passport here in the US, it took me 3 months to get it. Waiting four hours would be a breeze..I'm glad you got a new one though!

Its so shocking that in UK it takes them like a few hours to make your passport... In germany it takes them literally an entire month!

HeyOiii2345 Not sure if this is the case in Germany as well, but here in the States, it normally takes 4-6 weeks unless you pay to have it expedited (which takes like 2 weeks). BUT you can also get emergency passports relatively quickly if even the expedited time wasn't short enough. So for example, if you have a trip in a week and you just found out your passport expires within 6 months (because often times your passport needs to be valid for 6 months _before_ the printed expiration on it) you can usually run to a passport agency and they can get you one pretty quick. I think that's what happened in Louis' case.

I am pretty sure it's because it was a ten year passport and he used it in ten months. So, he is really not applying for a brand new one, just getting a replacement; if that make sense.
