Decades ago we used to keep chicken and my mother used to get so excited whenever she got double yolk eggs ! From her kitchen she called whoever was around to have a look ! Nothing like fresh eggs from your chicken!

These grannies are so freaking strong! I use my kitchenaid to stretch my pasta and that is is a lot of work! These grannies never needed a gym membership to stay fit! God bless them all!

My Italian granny cooked like this. My memories are so sweet of her food. Every Sunday, big meal just like this. My granny would always say, “Its always about the tomatoes! Never canned!” To this day I can’t use a can of tomatoes without hearing her words. I’m loving these videos SO much!

I would be so happy if someone made this for me right now. Just a small serve. I can honestly almost taste it. Imagine this for lunch, then a warm wet towel to wash all the ragu off from around your mouth and a then a nap in a stream of sunlight on a cold day. In Algeria we have a recipe called (RECHTA) wich is the same shape of pasta but done with semolina. Beside the inherited turkish culture, i am sure this one comes from italia. LOVE THIS CHANNEL !!!!

@@pastagrannies Hey it's popular with us fiftysomethings too! My Sicilian grandma used to make a snack that seemed to essentially resemble a sweet roll, but was made with oregano and a very light brushing of red sauce. I have never been able to replicate it, as I have with many of her dishes. It's phonetic pronunciation is "Ah-Scotch-Ah" if my memory serves me right. It was only made for Christmas Eve. Does this sound familiar to anyone?? It would be a dream to be able to make this one Year. Thank You to each and every one of you who make this unbelievably amazing and charming channel with all of these absolutely adorable and brilliant ladies!!!

Great dish and video Vicky . One trick I still have to see anybody do when rolling pasta ... I've learned it from my grandmother when she rolled her dough that needed to be cut into strips or even squares. On the last roll to just pull out the rolling pin from either side, while the dough is still around the pin.... one less step and less time ! :)
