Hi Christopher... one of the massive benefits of working on a sanded surface... brand name and colour I use is Pastelmat, Dark grey, is that it grabs the pigment so you can glaze over each layer without over blending. I wrap my work in glassine paper when finished or frame them under mount and glass, I never use any fixative as it dulls colours too much. all the best... thanks for watching. 🙏
