Pastor Fatoyinbo Takes Leave Of Absence, Wife Should Follow Next?

Modele, the wife of the embattled founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Biodun Fatoyinbo, has said no one can replace her husband.
This comes after Fatoyinbo announced on Monday that he would embark on a leave of absence in light of the rape allegations made against him by Busola, wife of inspirational singer, Timi Dakolo.
Busola alleged that the pastor sexually molested her twice within a week when she was a minor, several years ago.
The COZA pastor, however, denied the allegations and threatened to take legal action against the Dakolos.
Busola’s claim sparked outrage, which led to protests by a group of 126 civil society organisations and individuals under the aegis of the #ChurchToo Movement, at Fatoyinbo’s church in Abuja and Lagos on Sunday.
Fatoyinbo, however, made an appearance on Monday, the first day of a one-week prayer and fast of the church.
At the end of the prayers, which Modele led, her husband emerged from the backstage wearing a red Balenciaga T-shirt and accompanied by three men to his designated seat in front of the congregation.
Modele, told the congregants to loud cheers that no one on earth was capable of replacing Fatoyinbo.
She said, “Pastor doesn’t want me to talk. It’s fine. I just want to tell you, pastor, because we have strangers, that on behalf of your sons and daughters. We have strangers in this house - strange sons and daughters. But God will close the heavens over them in the name of Jesus.
“I just want to say we love you. You are our pastor; nobody can take your place. It’s always good to assure people that you love them, not only when you feel that everything is fine with them, even much more when you feel that they are not (loved).”
Modele told the congregants that Fatoyinbo remained their pastor despite the alleged 20-year-old rape.
Turning to Fatoyinbo, she said, “You know your friends when you’re in trouble. So, we don’t want you to doubt in your heart. As for Modele, until I see Jesus, my surname cannot change. So, you better calm down.
“We love you and you have always taught us well. You have always stood on that stage to teach us that even though anybody might be coming from anywhere, God loves them and accepts them. You have never preached condemnation; you have never peached that we cannot change or make it.
“Nobody on earth can take your place in our lives in spite of ’20 years’? Where are you coming from? Nobody can take your place.”

Ruth Ogunbamowo In any organisation, such an allegation calls for a temporary step down while an investigation is being undertaken....in Bioduns case he owns the organisation, so stepping aside may mean chilling till the storm blows over, but this is an assumption...a lot may be going on behind the scenes.

I was even furious when he said we are going to have prayers here at church and I was like... You don't get to make that decision if you are stepping down. Let the board of committee arrange for that if needed. The power he exercises is real my people. Have you even thought of this also... He was on his way to carry out the 7 days of Glory yet sexual immorality has been going on? This is why I've always said God isn't it majority of the churches. I think we should be careful with the way we handle this case, This is a man who already made a sacrifice to step down without proof, No speculation without proofs will be accepted in court. The major problem we have today is that we are all liars....from the pulpit to the pews, otherwise this issue can be resolved with one question: "Biodun Fatoyinbo, did you have s€x with Busola.....whether consensual or rape. If Biodun is not just a smooth English speaking pastor but a practicing Christian, the simple answer to that question is a YES or a NO. But what do I hear, investigate 😲😲; where we there? Hi Everyone, In every video I have watched regarding this topic, people have consistently treated this case as if they were there when the act took place. Were you there? Are you 100% sure it actually happened? Can you place your life on the line for this? I ask all these questions because so many have derailed and assumed that the issue is not an "ALLEGATION" but a fact. Do you have any concrete evidence to prove rape actually took place? If it did, why have you continued to ACCUSE, JUDGE and PASS A SENTENCE while very conveniently refusing to press charges? Why have you insisted on being the ACCUSER, the JUDGE, the JURY and EXECUTIONER (all in one) without bothering to try him in court? Or, are there no courts in Nigeria? If there are courts, this seeming assumption that pastors are above the law is a myth created by the very accusers. There are law courts in Nigeria. File a case and stop being the ACCUSER, the JUDGE, the JURY and the SENTENCER all in one. This is wrong, unfair and senseless. To add to it all, even though he has taken the leave of absence, some still insist that that is not enough? What exactly do you want him to do other than what he has done? Do you require him to admit what he may not have done before you leave him alone? Are you quite aware that your insistence that he be punished OUTSIDE THE LAW - (even when you have not officially tried him in the court of law) appears to some of us as if you are deliberately trying to tear down the church of Christ?! Now, don't get me wrong. A crime is a crime and must be paid for - (if indeed "The Accused" is found guilty). But, the way I see it, all this public condemnation of this man under the assumption that he is guilty - (without the due process of the law) appears to be a conspiracy to destroy the church of God. Why do I conclude this? Because when a man comes to your house to steal and you know him, you don't go to his place of work or his home to insist he steps down as the manager of his work place or stop being a father or uncle to his kids/relatives. You simply get the police involved and get a lawyer to effect prosecution. Similarly, when Mallam Musa clubber's your nephew and renders him incapacitated for life, you don't go to his Mosque to insist his Imam calling be terminated, do you? You get the police involved and file a case in court against him. That is the due process of the law that will provide justice. Yet, you have not filed a case in court against him - (which I stand to be corrected about). All you seem to be doing is trying to destroy his reputation - (with the seeming intent of destroying...scattering the congregation as well onto the world). Someone asked about the lives and suffering of his supposed other victims. The questions I will put to that fellow and others who are reasoning like him/her is: Can you...are you ready to bet with your very life that he did it? How can you be a hundred percent sure without him being cross-examined? I personally cannot do it because I am not 100% sure if he did. So, I will be careful not to ASSUME that he is guilty. To me, for now, he is "ACCLAIMED"...SAID TO HAVE...SUPPOSEDLY done it, that's all! I will therefore treat him as a SUSPECT and nothing more! Someone said he did it and you took it in hook, line and sinker and have insisted that judgement must be passed - (outside the law). You claim you want justice. Yet, you are waiting for me to tell you that what you are doing now by organizing a rally to go and disrupt things in the church is JUDGEMENTAL (outside the due process of the law). For crying out loud, take the man to court and insist on justice. If indeed your ALLIGATION is right, you will get justice. Stop treating THE ACCUSED as guilty (without a court trial) and applying JUNGLE JUSTICE. This makes the whole thing look like a conspiracy to destroy the church! And one other thing: His position is not of Men but of God. Men did not call him. God did. Therefore, the only one who has the authority to ask him to relinquish his position as Pastor is his Boss - (God). No one...I repeat, no one or authority on the planet has the right to ask him to stop being a pastor. I cannot come to you and insist you fire your driver just because I caught him stealing cassava from my farm now, can I? You are the only one who has the authority to take such a decision - (irrespective of whether he truly stole the cassava or not). I have taken the pains to put out this argument because I feel that this man has been ACCUSED, JUDGED, and SENTENCED by the same group of people( without really bothering to try him in court). You have continued to treat him as if he is guilty while forgetting that this is an ALLEGATION only - (yet to be investigated in court and proven). Remember, it is the same measure with which you judge others - (without due trial as is rightly supposed to be) that you yourselves will be judged someday!!!
