Butterfingers. This was the first candy bar I wanted to recreate as a child. I had no idea what the filling was made of as it was like nothing else I had tried. I had asked my mom, 'Mom, what's a Butterfinger made of?' She thought a moment and said, 'I think it's some sort of crunchy peanut butter...' Now, I hadn't had crunchy peanut butter at this point in my life but I knew it came in jars and I got unduly excited. We went and picked up a jar of crunchy peanut butter and the entire ride home all I could think of was all the new ways I could make a Butterfinger bar. I wouldn't even have to buy another candy bar again. I got home opened the jar, slathered it on some bread and took a bite. And it was just peanut butter with nuts. 😐 And the dream ended...until today! Dear Claire and Bon Apetit, please try your hand at making a Butterfinger bar so I can re-attempt the dream!

Why do people sometimes complain where there are differences? I thought the whole point of this series was to improve on a classic, and make a gourmet version. If she made an identical looking and tasting version, wouldn't that defeat the purpose? Often I wish she made even bigger changes, really make it better and put that Claire stank on it... hate it hers! This was an amazing job as usual. Claire is my food hero, I'm kinda frazzled when I cook and I tend to mess up a lot... but I always think WWCD! I keep going and try hard because I know Claire never gives up! :D She's the best!

Jeff White I’m like 90% sure Brad has ADHD... he’s definitely high-functioning, but as someone who has ADHD I definitely both relate a lot to Brad and his energetic personality and see a lot of myself/my symptoms/habits/quirks (like losing things/getting easily distracted) in him. It’s honestly pretty inspirational to see someone like him succeeding and doing what he loves bc it makes me feel like I can too! Sorry to come out of left field with that I’ve just been thinking about it for a while hehe

The medication helps bridge most of the gaps that I lack but seeing those specific quirks represented on one of my favorite KZbin shows similarly gives me hope for the future. I always love seeing Brad come up with spectacular ideas while keeping things light and goofy 😊

@@glitteringdystop1a I think people have this assumption that you have to fit the 'ambitious, organized & focused' mold in order to be brilliant, in general! Just being clumsy or forgetful isn't a diagnosis itself but we sure don't see more than one 'style' being celebrated. One of the reason I keep coming back to Claire's videos, for example, is her tenacity. Helps me find inspiration whenever I get stuck. While I can't make any assumptions about Claire as a person, she reminds me of the student I always strived to be. It's Alive and Brad's segments on the show, feel familiar to me. His habit of poking in and out, cracking jokes, puttering around the kitchen and using conversation with either colleagues or the audience as an ongoing anchor - They're refreshing...But I also spot them in my day to day life. These different styles of communication and conception, create a sense of balance in the episodes!
