Honestly, the most fun I had while playing this was coming up with a title for each Ada Wong chapter. Such as: "Ada Wong starring in : Wongfully Accused" "Ada Wong starring in: Two Wongs Don't Make A Right!" and even "Ada Wong starring in: "In the Right Place at the Wong Time!"

Several months late response, but you can get notes in the game... by shooting the HIDDEN serpent symbols. How do you read these notes? by going into a HIDDEN menu. Seriously, the world building of this game is horrendous. I remember reading some, and they do explain some important things that get no answer in the main narrative of the game. What a shitshow.

The thing that bothered me the most about RE6 is the legendary amount of plot armor all story characters have. 75% of the game you are walking around in the Zombification smoke and sometimes in the kill zone where everything around you is turning into a zombie with no mask, vaccine or anything. I can roll my eyes at the protagonist always survives explosions,gunfire or crashes but the gawd damned airborne freshly dropped virus but nah were okay always got to me

2:17:45 This was my favorite part of the whole game. The only partner character that didn't make it but was the most heroic thing ever, chose the BSAA instead of life with no words. Chris is loosing another team mate yet again that wanted him to take charge after the mission is over, but showed that his sacrifice saved his life, It would have been a bunch of bullshit if that electroshock didn't kill the monster and just to show how strong the monster is. Like Charlie's sacrifice in SFV that did nothing on Bison.

I don’t understand Chris’ character arc in this game. He loses his squad minus Pierce, falls into a depression, gets back into the game and loses his whole squad once again including Pierce, and on top of that he failed to stop a missile that likely cost hundreds of thousands of people their lives. Despite failing even worse in China than in Edonia, he doesn’t fall into a depression because... reasons? I don’t get it. You’d think he’d have called it quits afterwards.

Why did Piers choose the heroic sacrifice when we was completely fine? Sure he looked ugly, but he had the monster arm totally under control. Like Krauser. Remember Krauser, everybody, who with a weaker, less advanced parasite, not only retained all his mental faculties but could even hide the monster arm at will? Remember how we established back in RE4 that limited transformations like Piers's could totally be controlled? And that the big super boss of Leon's campaign could more or less hide his giant virus t rex form inside a human body and stay in control of himself, further cementing that concept in the same game? What a mysterious jogo.

the thing i like bout Haos is that it's not finished. like you can see that it was still in incubation and released too early. so i would assume that at 100% Chris and Piers would have had no chance against it at all. which is cool. and about the only thing i like about the entirety of Chris's section of the game. well... that and Piers gets a fecking cool electro arm. but that was super god damn lucky. if he had gotten ANY OTHER ability they would have been fecked.

This might sound strange but I think RE6 would have been received slightly better if the campaign select screen was in a different order. Start with Jake, below him have Chris, then Leon, and finally Ada. That way players will be surprised when Jake learns he's Wesker's son as well as Simmons' being the villain halfway through. We also wouldn't know Ada isn't really dead until the end of Leon's story. This is a small fix but one I think would help.

Maybe Chris should adopt Jake like Terry adopted Rock. Teach him the art of Boulder Punching. Chris told Piers to stand down which was a direct order. The difference between getting shot dead on in the face and having a grazed cheek is the rotation of the hip vs the rotation of the wrist. Imaging getting cured from being a zombie and living with the fact of what you did as one.

I still believe that in all honestly the roles at the end of the chris campaign should have been reversed. Chris was talking about calling it quits and wanted piers to replace him, chris dying doing the right thing and letting piers live would have been the best thing chris did in the whole game, but capcom just refuses to kill off main characters.

I have mixed feelings on it. On one hand, I personally feel the "veteran series protagonist sacrifices themselves to pass the torch to new protagonist" is always a bit of a downer for me (a character who's gone through that much shit has earned a happy and peaceful retirement in my book). It can also feel a bit cheap when it's obvious just a way to force in the younger, hipper new guy instead of just starting a new franchise. On the other hand, like you said it's really what this games story was leading up to. There's absolutely no reason Chris shouldn't be a complete basketcase after this. His arc just makes no sense, going from being depressed over losing all his men to losing all his men AGAIN and the game expecting it to seem bittersweet this time.

Wow was that.. it for Chris’ campaign? I waited almost 7 years for that? That was pretty forgettable except for the end. I tuned in to watch Pat’s run (and I’m glad his gameplay improved) because I never knew how Chris’ story turned out. Only thing I knew about it was someone long ago saying: “Piers kept it real.” Whether that meant Piers had a big hero moment or died for the sake of others I never actually knew. Guess I know now. And now he’s one of my favorites despite being just a loyal soldier. He really held it down all the way till the end. I think Chris’ campaign would have been a prime opportunity (gameplay wise) to introduce some more unique variants of the C virus. The guys you fight at the end look like a mutated cross between Tengu soldiers and the soldiers in 5. But all they do is have more maneuverability while also being able to shoot in some cases. And it was a little too action packed for an RE game, there wasn’t that much tension in his campaign except for maybe the snake part. And the ending? I’m shocked it didn’t send Chris into another mental breakdown. It always ends with him. I guess now he feels obligated to do it out of memory until he dies in the line of duty. A shame that he just can’t catch a break. But then again, not many of the characters did from what I remember. Thanks Pat for playing this even though it was clear you didn’t want to. There’s no one else that I know of that would pique my interest when it comes to playing an RE game

Overall I feel the story is around the same level of dumb as re5, but holy shit is Chris telling Jake "I shot your father." when the fate of the world is at risk and tensions are high and above all else, FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN JUST TO HAVE A TENSE MOMENT, is probably the dumbest character moment I've seen in resident evil history.

Is anyone else with uBlock Origin having issues watching Pat's videos lately? Sometimes I get a gray screen telling me there's a playback error and it also says the video length is a random time between 15 seconds and 5 minutes which makes me think a blocked ad is trying but failing to load. It starts playing like normal after like 5 seconds or if I refresh but it's just kind of weird.

Everyone hails 4 as the second coming of videogame christ, I see it as the beginning of the downslide trilogy that lead to RE6. The switch from Survivor Horror to Action was portent through RE4, and lead the series down this path, this was the logical conclusion once they went to RE4. Honestly I can't wait to see you play RE7, a true return to survival horror. That being said, I remember having some fun with RE6, but that's probably because I played through it co-op over internet... and despite how bad it was, I did enjoy Leon's campaign.

RE4 is definitely when the series transitioned, but it's still a good game and holds up in a way that 5 and 6 don't. The gunplay is extremely polished and satisfying, the pacing is really varied and good, and even though it's silly and RADICOOL as hell...it still has some nice thick atmosphere in places (returning to the village at night, regenerators, etc.). It's caught in a weird middle ground between survival horror and action game mechanics, and it really shouldn't work, but it just does. Same can't be said for 5-6.
