36:33 Ever since we've learned about the crucible, I've always assumed Torrent was a donkey touched by the crucible, maybe revived in some magical way, which is why he's a specter. One thing is clear: due to his size when compared to our character, Torrent is clearly not a horse. He's smaller, and that's maybe by design, since donkeys have been used for millenia as super reliable travelling companions that carry stuff, unlike horses that have been usually depicted as fast travelling, battling types (although, they're both equally docile and loving animals, if you treat them right)

I see a lot of people jumping to conclusions about the reveals in the Hinterlands, and I'm not really convinced. Spoilers for the sections Pat has played below: The immediate jump is "Marika innocent! Her genocide was ok actually!" But there's an item that mentions "shamans performing worship in the gaols", and "the cycle of life and death taken into the hands of mortal men". So the shamans were involved with the pot process in a way that wasn't just being fuel for the pots? Were they attempting to circumvent natural death, working with Belurat? The whole pot process makes no sense based on my curent knowledge, tbh. According to the tooth whip/butcher's knife people are cut up and put inside, but then the pot innard enemies look more like a person with a mass of flesh grafted onto their back. The warrior jars just explode into goo; there's not a weird flesh person inside. Why do the wounds need to be festering? Why do the prisoners in the jail feast off the maggots of the pot innards; it seems like the gaols are below ground in cold environments, shouldn't that prevent rotting and flies? Things you would want to stop if the parts inside need to stay good until a "saint" is created? The pot gaols are not just under Belurat, but across the Shadowlands. Hornsent and Omen appear to be different; hornsent are only shown with horns on their heads, where Omen have horns all over. I see people conflate them a lot but I don't think they're the same. Perhaps the Omen are a product of Marika tampering with the Elden Ring? If Marika simply hated the jar process b/c her people were victims, then why keep doing it after becoming a god? And why allow aspects of the Crucible to be considered holy in the time of Godfrey. She took him as Elden Lord, not the other way around, so it's not like she couldn't have decided otherwise. In fact, after the Erdtree threw out seeds, the pots became used more. Again, why keep doing it if she could literally write the metaphysical laws of reality? Something more is going on.

The person is the Shaman, the mass of goo is everyone else. The Warrior Jars are Marika taking the practice and removing the living Shaman component. The Gaols are the old method. The two types of jars have different seals. The Warrior Jars carry corpses from battlefields to Erdtrees for Burials, the Hornsent/Bonny Jars are used for the ascension of living shaman into saints. Which the Shaman may have sometimes been willing, but were also at one point brutalised and abused by the Hornsent of Bonny Village.

WAIT, How did this not get noticed before. The shamans in the base game are one of the only cultures post erd tree that were never attacked or persecuted by the Golden Order, they were simply left alone. Since Marika is from a "Shaman Village" did she simply let her previous bretherin live???? That means also, that the Shaman';s are in fact Numen like Marika.

the word used for "shaman" is the same one used for "maiden" in a lot of contexts in the base game. it's "miko", basically a shrine maiden/oracle medium for spirits, specifically female. Marika's village was like a coven of witches or something. the numen were probably the origin of the ability to turn runes into strength, since "playing the role of a maiden/miko" is what melina says she can do for you

I don't care that Pat was overleveled for SOTE, but he _was_ overleveled and it _did_ make the game easier for him. Being able to use pretty much every single weapon, and having near-softcap FP and Stamina, gives him a versatility that even the most optimized RL150 build could never ever have I'm glad he overleveled himself, because it's not actually fun to see a streamer get stuck on a boss for 4 hours instead of finding new content and trying out new weapons, but he's goofy if he doesn't think he's made the game way less challenging

They didn't nerf the final boss, they buffed the players potential. You can still make the dlc just as hard, just don't eat all the seeds
