As a note (and I’m uncertain if this changed at some point) the video states Investigators are not proficient with bombs by default, but Investigators start off proficient with simple and martial weapons. Thus, they ought to be proficient. What’s more - they’re arguably excellent users of bombs, because they can know before they throw it whether or not they’re likely to hit.

Watching you talk about Mutagens makes me sad for Mutagenists :( I wish Bestial Mutagen was as cool (mechanically speaking) as it is in theory haha

Would Quick Draw work to draw a Bomb from a bandolier and toss it in a single action ? (actually I'm always confused about bandolier's action economy lol)
@donnkasten41113 жыл бұрын
So I’ve talked with my gm, he allows it, but we couldn’t find anything conclusive on this. (He also allowed far thrower to apply to bombs.) The main thing for us is I’m not proficient so I’m just adding my dex, I think he’s hoping the more I use it the more chances he has for it to critically fail, lol.

@@donnkasten4111 Lol. Well, nothing a general feat can't fix. Tho it's only trained.
@FryGuy10133 жыл бұрын
Bandoliers were mechanically removed from the game in the latest errata. Now items are simply either held, worn, or stowed. The items that are in bandoliers are considered worn as they can be retrieved quickly. In the section on drawing and stowing items (CRB 271) it lists that taking a worn item into your hands requires an interact action. Quick draw is a feat that allows you to interact and strike as a single action, so this would be allowed.

@@FryGuy1013 Ok ok. So Bandoliers only allow you to wear items so you can retrieve them without having to take them out of your bag. Thanks

Can you counteract a mutagen with a polymorph spell? or be "protected of those spell witha mutagen elixir?
@Seitenfetzer2 жыл бұрын
So... does the video about alchemists and quick alchemy exist already?
@linus4d13 жыл бұрын
I just realized that a mutagen could be used to counteract Baleful Polymorph automatically if the target fails or critically fails their check against the spell.
@aloseman3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if needing a counteract can count as automatically. But that *is* a good strategy.

If I want to throw an Alchemical bomb on the ground close to a group of enemies because I just want to hit them with the Splash damage, what's the roll for that? Since the ground doesn't exactly have AC.
@squirrel_killer-3 жыл бұрын
Until PF2e gives solid rules, traditional dictates an AC 10 attack roll, then if you miss roll a d8, on a 1 it lands one square towards the thrower, and rotate clockwise around the target square for all other values on the d8. On a critical failure, I'd move it two squares away from the target. On a hex grid I'd use a d6
@xdragoonzero03 жыл бұрын
@@squirrel_killer- In PF1 hitting something like a square was just AC 5 (base 10 - 5 from effectively 0 Dex, because it's not like the square is going to dodge).
@toughbubble77483 жыл бұрын
How come you would use 2d8 instead of doing 1d8, then multiply that by 2 when scoring a critical hit? (this was with the alchemist's fire example)
@HowItsPlayed3 жыл бұрын
I think this is an example of the writers/editors just not being on the same page. I don't think there'd be any issues if you chose to multiply it by 2 for consistency with other critical hits.
