My grandpas neighbor has a 66 c20 that's going on an s10 frame, when he bought it it was all black rattle can that was peeling. He power washed the whole rig and off came the black paint under that was about 6 different colors and "RAMBO" on the driver's side door. Cant beat real patina but fotina is definitely still a cool look. Definitely stands out and is more rare in my eyes anyway then a nice shiny truck. Cool build you got happening.

It's still wrong. You should use just cold water. Never use hydrogen peroxide in a cut wound. It can be used in purulent wounds.

I wish I had rear suspension!! That's the best suspension designed for handling. Nascar used those actual truck arms for years. They used that design up to 2006. I've owned 6 1962-72 trucks and so much fun doing budget builds.

For cuts use iodine, it will both disinfect the cut and help with healing and reduces scarring
@RubenKelevra
@RubenKelevra 4 жыл бұрын
If you cut yourself, just flush the wound with clear water for a minute or two, until the bleeding goes down. Than dry the skin with paper towels and tape it snuggly with band aid without a wound dressing. Never clean a wound with antiseptic or hydrogen peroxide - those will damage the cells and increase the amount of healing necessary.

So the idea is to actually make the vehicle rust vs removing the rust, painting it and making it look new? Never heard of that but I guess they do things a little differently north of the border.

Does the baking soda neutralize the rust? I would be worried that it would continue to rust under the clear coat.
@skinanbonesOG
@skinanbonesOG 6 жыл бұрын
it neutralizes the acid of the vinegar, slowing down the rusting process back to normal
@kennethlaw5216
@kennethlaw5216 6 жыл бұрын
once you spray the clear coat over it the rust is sealed in and won't have any problems with it. Unless you have a spot that is all the way through to the back side. in that case you would have problems painted or not

Kind of a old timer swimming pool trick. Low ph is acidic. To raise it add baking soda or soda ash if alk. Is low. Baking soda will get ph back up bacause i think paint wont stick good to low ph surfaces which is usually what it is after cleaners are added.

Just don't clear coat the rust so much that it becomes shiny. Even the flat clear coats look kinda fake. I've heard of people rubbing their truck down with silicone spray to keep it from oxidizing further, that looks more natural in my opinion.

No disrespect to DeBoss. I wish this trend would die already. Only thing worse than the "patina" look is fake patina. Maybe we should start a trend of driving around with body damage or nonmatching wheels.
@caduceus33

@MrJoeGarner and Angry Panda Yup, this whole patina thing is pretty lame. And some people try to use it as a sales point to get more money out of a vehicle! I already drive around with some body damage on my car, but not to look cool--just to save cash. (I haven't found that it has started any trends as yet.)

You can make your money and some by flipping the cars that you restore. People want to see bad ass cars, trucks restored quickly. Many other car builder youtubers are shooting up in subscribers, by doing this. Building a car to a decent condition, not saying show quality, hell even a single stage cheapy paint job is better then fake patina
