So I'm definitely no expert, but I witnessed first hand with PB's, Corky's and mirrolures that a complete slack line after your pop, pop, stop, increases the bite by 10x's. I was taught buy a buddy to slow reel after the Pop's to feel the bite, met a guide years later who complete slack lined after his 'pop's', explained how the baits wobble vertically as they sink on a slack line and you'll still feel the bite. My bite rate went up exponentially. Especially in late fall and winter

I’m new to the wade fishing game, but what makes Corkies so special? Is it their action? And what is corky season? All I hear is corky this and that for trout on the flats but I never looked into them. I’m not new to fishing, I just never understood why corkies had such a following. Almost like in-line spinners or hair jigs or big bulky chunks on jigs for bass.
