Paul George has officially signed with the 76ers, but what exactly does this mean and how good can we expect them to be?

He's going to be PG. One of the best 2 way players in the game for long time, consistently. Maxey Nd Bridge are the stars. PG adds more points better wing defense rebounds and good mid-range. The problem will only be the bench play. No bench it won't matter who they have

@@danielmurphy2480 no. He’s coming to Philly to be the third option on offense and to guard the other team’s best wing player. Nothing is more of a commodity in 2024 NBA than a great two-way wing… we see that every day now with the contracts being given out in free agency as well as the trades that have happened. The price is the price. PG is still easily a top 30 NBA player and is now way better off ball and off the catch than he is on ball. Putting him around Embiid and Maxey is too perfect of a fit to pass up.

As a sixers fan, my hope is that PG’s off ball role is gonna help with his injuries, and Drummond will just help us sit Joel a little longer but just rebounding and adding rim protection. Joel was always fighting to get back blown leads because we got KILLED at the rim and it always led to pushing his knees too hard

Offensively we are fine, but remember both the Celtics and the Knicks have multiple serious threats on the wing. Our only hope is that we can find a high energy and athletic 3 or 4 that can help Paul. Overall i think we still can win the first round but when the second round comes, it will spell trouble

I have to say this is the most excited I’ve been since the Jimmy Butler acquisition. The balance of Maxey/PG/Embiid is unreal. We just have to ensure we fill in the gaps. Oubre will like fill 1 spot. We just HAVE. To get that 4 spot right. All PG has to offer is an upgrade on Tobias. Which he is and you mentioned exactly what I was saying to my bro, PG is gonna be lights out from catch and shoots because of the space created by Embiid being on his team.

Great breakdown! PG is a great fit, even at 34. Of course health is going to be the main concern, and they need to round out this roster. I expect Lowry to be back on a vet min. Paul Reed will likely be traded along w/ picks for another wing like DFS since this team still needs another legit perimeter defender. I realize Maxey and probably PG are going to handle the ball a lot, but i still wish they could find another ball-handler. It's going to have to be another vet min, maybe like a Delon Wright. Even as a Sixer fan, i still don't think they're on the same tier as Boston, NYK EDIT: didn't realize Wright was already scooped up

I've always had a soft spot for PG; to come back from that gruesome leg break show real mental strength, and to come back with a much improved shooting stroke showed a willingness to work on his game. Prime PG was a delight to watch on both ends of the floor, smooth as silk on offense, ice skating around screens on defense. But the 76ers aren't getting prime PG; they're getting an injured, tired, bag chasing Podcast P who looks like he's mentally checked out, having more fun with his show that on the court. By the time he's 36, the deal is going to look terrible.

Losing melton and batum may cost them a championship. They were exactly what this team needs and to beat the Celtics you need to build the best roster possible even tho this roster is very good

PG is an inefficient iso scorer and needs a proper system to maximize his potential, but the Clippers just wants to kiss Ty Lue's butt. Lue's max extension was the final nail in the coffin for them. This clown of an FO just essentially traded PG for Harden! PG is in a much better place now playing for Nick Nurse, while the Clippers' championship window is now completely closed. There's no coming back for them.

The man just blamed the clippers shortcomings on the fact he didn’t have batum and Roco he now has neither in Philly with a guy who played the same amount of games as Kawhi please tell me what difference will he be making when he has no choice but to guard the number 1 options now because there’s no Terrence Mann no Kawhi no pat bev no batum no Roco it’s strictly George as the main line of defense with embid behind him also he doesn’t want to do the dirty work so that means maxey or oubre or embid will have to and that ain’t good for embid who’s already on one knee
@kyojin7750
@kyojin7750 3 күн бұрын
@@idgaf5794 The difference is he won't need to iso or PnR as often and just play off the ball so he has more energy to do the dirty work. And btw, they will also have a great defensive scheme and win.
