It honestly did seem like maybe the worst time to come up in wrestling. At least in the old days, you could kinda sorta justify the hazing with the guys legitimately wanting to protect the business. In the 2000's, it was just a bunch of mid-card guys using it as an excuse to be assholes.

Well the mid 00 guys are guys who got into wrestling after the late 90s boom. That boom captured suburban middle class teens from stable homes. These are wrestlers who go back to the hotel room and play video games and go on social media after the show, not do cocaine and rage at the strip club all night with the boys. They’re a different and softer breed than the wrestlers from the 90s and before. The previous generation were guys with real actual trauma more like Vietnam vets.

Went to an ECW house show with my best friend who was a cop at the time. The show was supposed to start, I think at 8pm. Of course the show is running late because it's ECW and it is freezing cold outside. My friend sees one of his colleagues who is working security for the building and he lets my friend and I into the building. The building was rectangular shaped and the show (the ring and the fan seating) was on one end of the building. We were at the other end of the building just talking to the security guard, probably at least 70 yards from where the show was located. Out of nowhere Bubba Ray starts yelling at us, threatening to kick our asses if we don't leave. The security guard, who is in uniform, says they are with me and Bubba says he doesn't give a shit and he wants us gone and that it's 'his show' (or something to that affect, I couldn't quite make out what he said). My friend is a former D-1 wrestler and coaches BJJ to many MMA stars. It would have been funny to have seen Bubba get choked out before the show.

Bully ray was a great character as the leader of the aces and eights! Great heal and it is a shame WWE didn't see him or Devon as singles wrestlers. I thought they were entertaining, but it is a shame if they were not decent human beings which is more important, but don't discredit their talent either

I never liked Ray, he acts likes he's some great wrestling legend and he's nothing. The only thing he's achieved was landing Velvet Sky and I still don't understand that.

@@jamesjones-ez9ug they were over, I give them that but let's face the facts. Devon carried the team, Bubba did nothing but say get the tables. My honest opinion is they were always at the right place at the right time, Tna needed them because of who and where they had been. Ecw really didn't have to many tag teams or team that stayed together that long, they did good in WWF/E during the Attitude era because everything was hard-core this and that and ECW was still fresh in people's mind. But title wins really doesn't make you the greatest, I don't feel Ric Flair is the greatest of all time. Ric wrestled the same match for 40 years, Bret Hart or HBK or even William Regel could out wrestle him and put on a better show. Goldberg and Warrior are two of the biggest names in the business but let's faces the facts neither could out wrestle a wrestler.

Believe it or not, some pretty women purposely marry unattractive men cause they know ugly dudes have less options & are less likely to cheat.

@@timothycrawford3476 That always annoyed me. Like how come the black guy always gotta go get the tables?.. But maybe that's why Devon was always in better shape, cause Bubba lazy af.

Bubba knew the locker room and in ring politics and he learned a lot form his friend Paul E Dangerously. Bubba learned a lot from Dreamer too, all them guys hung out behind the scenes of ECW. All the inside info of WCW and WWF filtered around ECW it had to of because the talent would jump around a lot back then.

This is such an insult to James... James doesn't shill his crooked finance company or put his stupid face in all the video title pictures or weigh 700 pounds or beat his wife or say stupid things like "lot to unpack here". James doesn't even include his last name because he's not trying to push himself or make himself famous, he wants all the attention to be where it should be: the wrestlers!
