Paul, good info video. I had a LDR 4 yrs pre-covid. She met me at airport and stayed with her a whole month traveling Philippines. Came back to US and 7/2023 started K1 process. 9/2024 she finally made it here to the US. Just got married and in process of submitting change of status... 😊. Makes a lot of sense but I did the opposite. I sent airfare to the girl to have her travel to Manila from her island to meet me at the airport in Manila. It worked out well though, we have been married now for 25 years.
@linkinemerson86202 ай бұрын
Congrats Bruce! I would say though that taking a 25 year old example of a good story before bots, scammers, dating apps, heck it was before youtube or any social media at all. Myspace was invented in 2003 & your marriage dates back to 1999, give or take a year or 2 of course Im not trying to corner you. But today the internet is entirely different from what it was when it was barely getting started pre Y2K. If your dates are correct the fact that you somehow even met a Filipina with internet is extremely amazing way back then lol. May I ask, where did you guys meet online exactly?
@digimaster73932 ай бұрын
Same with us here and still together after 20 years now ❤ But to be fair, times have changed since then and TRUST and commitment are rare Attributes to find these days...
@BruceCinader2 ай бұрын
@@linkinemerson8620 Actually I did not meet her online. A friend of mine met and married a Filipina, one day he showed me the picture of this beautiful young girl on his lap and said he married her in the Philippines and will soon have her here in the USA with him. He knew I was divorced from my American wife of 26 years and suggested that his wife had some friends looking to meet some of his friends. So we were introduced to each other thru our friends, pretty much like it would happen here in the USA. We wrote letters and eventually made phone calls and when he went back the the Philippines to escort his wife to the USA I went with him to meet the girl that I had been communicating with. We got along great so I went home and filed the papers to bring her here to marry me and live in the USA. I met her in 1998 and by the time the papers were finished we married here in the USA late in 1999.

@linkinemerson8620 Did he say he met on the internet? There were other ways to meet before the Internet. The term "mail order bride" gives a little hint...
@linkinemerson86202 ай бұрын
@@PaulM745 I leaned heavily on the differences with the internet, but I didn't mean to signal that I thought it must be how they met. I think with Pauls video explaining his situation with online scammers, I leaned toward that assumption. My meant to highlight how different wife hunting is now compared to 25 years ago. The level of possible scams is more than 1000x greater easily, but its all based around the new technology. Perhaps it was mail order with some company out there that had a good track-record of really having women interested in going etc.

Whilst I agree with you on slow down advice, I was one of those who met my fiance at the airport, I flew into Cebu from Ireland and she flew in from Calbayog. We met and stayed together in Cebu for a week or so before flying back to Samar to meet her son who is only 4, I met all her family there too, all of whom I had spoken to online before coming over. We stayed in Samar for another week and then headed back to Cebu with the wee fella. I don't regret a single minute of doing it that way, maybe I'm one of the lucky ones. I'm nowhere near retirement yet and we've been doing LDR for over a year now, we speak 2 or 3 times a day and they're both coming over for a couple of months to Ireland in 2025. It works for us. She talks to my kids one of whom is the same age as her, 30 and my kids love her. Each person is unique and every situation different. I do understand that all too often people get fleeced coming over, but on the flip side of that many a Filipina has been promised the earth and left barefoot and pregnant by a gwapo westerner, who is not seen for dust when the child comes along

Also. BY pinoy
@mduckod9922 ай бұрын
@secretagent86 yes but pinoys don't come out saying that Filipinas are the scourge of the world, taking advantage of them and scamming them. Article 195 of the families act can be implemented more easily against a pinoy who impregnates a Filipina, whereas with a foreigner who disappears after doing the deed leaves a woman with the inability to lodge an international case against her former partner due to the financial implications. Yes I do understand that some countries have entered into a unilateral agreement namely the Hague Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support, but to get such proceedings started by a single mother with minimal or no income is near impossible.

I did basically the same except my children didn't talk to her before she came to the US. She's lived in the US for 17 years now and has a really good job. The one thing about me going there the first time was I felt comfortable meeting her at the airport but we had to talk about how much I would send to her to pay for her getting to Manila. She had to accept a limited number of people that would be with her at our first meet. She didn't live on a main island so me trying to navigate to where she's from would have been too hard so I gladly accepted meeting her at the airport. We did have a few money talks though.

I did something less stringent. I used 3 codewords on a Slavic site previously (100% fails indicating scammers) but on Christian Filipina, I used TWO different things. 1st I shared a riddle, but put the answer at the bottom. Second, I included a paragraph about "MANDATORY PRENUP" in near the end. Then, I wrote a lengthy profile in the middle that included some personal details, some goals but not too much info. I shared some strong opinions too. Why? The goal of a dating profile should not be to attract, but to CHASE AWAY those who are unqualified. Length means the low intellect women are intimidated and flee plus those with language shortcomings are warned. Any man who likes chatting with his lady should include tests to determine her ability to sustain chat. 3+ years for me, but I am a super picky man.

Another reason is you don’t want to short change yourself. So many guys make the mistake of going for the first girl they meet and then when they arrive they see there is a plethora of options available to them, and now that first girl will not let you go. Sure you can cut ties but it’s best to avoid the drama and get there first and see what’s out there before committing

I think you should try talking online first - don't go in with the mindset of meeting the right person, just try to get to know a few girls and have some video calls with them. With no expectations, you're free to experiment and refine your approach, try new things. Who knows, maybe you really do hit it off with someone. It'll be less intimidating when you finally do get boots on the ground.

I know that when I had the cataract surgery it was a rough couple of months as far as why I’m coming over there. I think I’ve told you this before, if I meet somebody that’s fine if I don’t that’s fine. I was married for almost 30 years and I raised two children and put them into college and I’ve done all of that. Been there done that what I’ve if that means sharing it with someone fine if it means a bunch of one night stands I’m OK with that as well if it means being alone, which I have been for the past 15 years, I’m fine with that too but what I want most of all is to just get out of this rat race over here and be able to just sit back and relax

Hey Pauly because of the topic of you guilting smoking I got to thinking. I have quit a few times before and to be honest I had no intentions of quitting. But I have that need to know thing and well I sort of need to know if I wanted to quit can I do it. I do have a start I am prepping already so I have the mind set this is what I wish to do. I know it is going to be a long road and I know it will take a while to be smoke free But I want to try and I fail so what try again.
