Just wanted to give a big THANKS to you. I saw you present at the Captivate Certification in DC probably about a year and a half ago, and was blown away with your knowledge. Of course, hadn't touched Captivate since being certified, and all of a sudden was thrust into a quick turn around of a course (pretty short). Your videos helped me get through it so much! I was wondering. Is there a place that neatly lists all of your video titles? THANKS AGAIN!!!! I should mention, I became a member of your group here on KZbin, perhaps there is an easy compiled list of videos there.

Hi Paul. How would one set up an icon to allow the learner to play the text to speech audio? I have an icon and was planning to use a click box with "play audio" for the action.

I think there is a video in there. Stay tuned but generally you are on the right track.

@@CaptivateTeacher Hi Paul! It's been 2 years since this question was asked so I wanted to follow up. Is there a way to add a button so the user can decide whether they want the text-to-speech to be played? Do you know if that’s possible or if there is another way to give the user the choice?

Hi Paul, I have been watching your videos and learned a lot! I am a language instructor and I want to know how to create audio entry function for the learner to record their own voice in assignments. I wonder if Captivate 2019 can do it? Thank you!

There was a sneak peek from Adobe a few years ago that captured users voice to be used instead of typing on a keyboard or using a mouse. To date it hasn't been released. You can use the link in my video description to ask Adobe for new features you might want. If enough people ask for the feature they may come out with it.

HI Paul Is there a way to create a multilingual project in Captivate? Also, is it possible to have the voice over in English and CC in Spanish? I am banking on your vast knowledge for help.
@CaptivateTeacher4 жыл бұрын
In Canada, we have two official languages, English and French. I've often had to prepare two versions of my course for each language. Closed captioning can be in any language you want but you only get one set of captioning, so therefore a single multi language course.

Hi Paul I hope you can HELP! When in Captivate 2017 we cannot change the voices in Speech management andthe voice defaults to the computers speech properties TTS voice. Have you come across this issue.

Your best bet for troubleshooting Adobe Captivate is to reach out to Adobe for technical support. Use the following email address to get in touch with them. mailto:CaptivateHelp@Adobe.com

Hi Paul I have a video using TTS and CC. However, my TTS has VTML codes to help the voice sound more natural. I don't want the VTML to show in my captions obviously, but when I edit the CC it also edits the TTS and vice versa. Do you know how I can edit one without it affect the other??
@CaptivateTeacher4 жыл бұрын
I enter separate entries for VTML and Closed Captioning and just check the check marks next to them so that one entry is for the text to speech and the other if for the closed captioning.
@TheKtcoop4 жыл бұрын
@@CaptivateTeacher So just to clarify - the only way to do it is to have 2 different slide notes for the same line of text? For example: One that says " Welcome to this training" for the TTS and one that says "Welcome to this training" for the CC?
@CaptivateTeacher4 жыл бұрын
@@TheKtcoop If you were to look at one of the slides in my courses where I've used text to speech you would see the TTS in a single entry for all the text to speech. this would include the VTML plus any revision to spelling I might have done to get it sound not terrible. Then you would see individual sentences for each line of text that would be used for closed captioning.

hi Paul Is it possible to create activities with voice recognition using adobe captivate 2019? We have some languages students and would like to create an activity that the students listen to and repeat in the microphone and the computer says it is correct or not. :-)

A couple of years ago Adobe showcased speech recognition but this never came to fruition.

How do you add text to speech to a screen record video?
@CaptivateTeacher5 жыл бұрын
By itself you really can't. You could create a regular captivate project and import the video demo project as a slide in that project and add it there but text to speech does know what timing to use. That's why I only use text to speech for software simulation.
