Music to my ears! Absolutely wonderful. I live in Toronto and even attended a couple of the city council meetings about the elephants. Until I got too disgusted with the whole thing. All those who did everything they could to prevent the three elephants from going to California were thinking only of themselves and not what was best for the elephants. PAWS is, without question, the best place for the Toronto elephants. I'm so glad they didn't have to suffer through another Toronto winter.

Thank you for taking our three lovely girls from Toronto and giving them a natural elephants' life. I miss them BUT, the cost of seeing them in a zoo is too high for their best interests. I know the keepers gave them the best care they could and they were treated with respect, however, the cold winters and cement floors were not to their advantage. Sending much love to Toka and Thika.

Incredible! How well-planned that the new girls and established ones were gradually brought closer together. It is unfortunate that it has to be done at all, but for the safety of all concerned, well done! I've read what the complainers have to say, and I wonder if they donate to help continue the care of these beautiful ladies? Do they even bother to educate themselves that these gorgeous elles' forever home is eighty wonderful acres, with swimming pools, natural foraging, shade trees for afternoon naps.. Thank you, Mr. Bob Barker. And thank you PAWS! I'll be donating.

@theartsyzoologist3 жыл бұрын
@@TheJimbob1603 The vocalisations we’re more so a stimulated series of curiosities and interest meeting a newer member of their kind, the deep rumbling and trumpeting are a mix of alarm and communication toward the newer elephant, bare in mind we are only hearing 20% of the conversation, they connect and communicate often using infrasonic frequencies we cannot hear. If they were terrified they would be racing up and down or hurting themselves by smashing into gates. The way they extended their trunks to one another is a sign that they are merely getting acquainted and want to know more about the stranger, vice versa.

I notice that there are no comments from Karen Wyman in the past year or so. She wanted the elephants sent to breeding pastures in Florida owned by the circuses and Zoos. It has since been closed down. It seems that almost every elephant sent there has died. One american zoo sent two healthy elephants there for boarding while they rebuilt their habitat. One was pregnant but they were both healthy. They were dead within a year. Iringa , the eldest, died last year at PAWS from problems caused by her having spent all her life in a zoo's concrete jungle. Thanks you. Toronto council, for not listening to the Zoo and their attendants and sending these beautiful animals to their deaths. I look forward to seeing more of Toka and Thika. And thank you so much PAWS for the work you do.

We've exausterd EVERY possible way to communicate with those Zoo people who seem to think.,. they OWN LUCY., and that LUCY likes the snow , the cold, and its all her choice to go outside ,,, they brag RE taking her outside at minus 32F,, they are DELUSIONAL.. they've convinced themselves.. they ARE LUCY"S family, she does NOT need ANY other elephant, They DON'T care about LUCY's well being, LUCY is the STAR of Edmonton Zoo. Lucy brings in MILLIONS all year round, $L $U $C $Y is their MAJOR ASSET,, I honestly believe.. its NOT, going to happen ,, ever, never, they will not give her up, They ALL are VERY stubborn, defiant, with huge distorted EGOS. its about ego and pride now, SPITEFULLY keeping her there, till she dies, Its so sad, but, I think Im correct on this one. furthermore, They REFUSE to ALLOW any outside Vet with opposing views to examine Lucy.

I just viewed again, and recalling the actual day they left Toronto, The Zoo still attempted to sabotage the move hence they delayed it by 12 extra hours, thus the elephants paid , again, by standing in their ready to go to PAWS crates, those dear elephants were NOT the zoos main priority, their egos were, NOW .., nearly a year later, OUR TOR Elephant shave gained muscles mass, they gotten stronger, they have filled out, They roam freely all day, and NO more Bull Hooks , PAWS is the closest thing or place to Heaven, or the wild, of Africa,
