How To Fix Acer Computer No Boot Device, Bootable Device Not Found, No Bootable Device Errors

If your Acer Computer is stuck in a No Boot Device, Bootable Device Not Found, No Bootable Device error or other boot up issues, this video will help. Please note, this can also be caused by a loose HDD. Try unplugging it and plugging it back in! Check out the FAQ's and Related Video Links below !!

Q: I cant switch between Legacy/CSM and UEFI or switching didn't help.
A: If you cannot change the Legacy/UEFI settings or if changing them did not help, can you find any Recovery or Repair options in BIOS? If not, or if that does not help, then try reinstall the Operating System;

Q: What if Windows does not install and keeps erroring out?
A: If Windows won't install correctly, then we know that the Hard Drive is bad. Replace it as seen here; • How To Replace Asus Co... . Then, install Windows onto the new one.
Q: Will changing those settings in BIOS erase any data?
A: Changing those settings in BIOS will not delete any data from your hard drive :)
Q: I cant find the Fn Key to enter BIOS.
A: Some models use different keys so you will have to try them all :( Also, some models require you to hold the Fn Key at the same time your pressing the Function key. Also, some viewers have reported F12 as the needed key. You may have to doublecheck if your Boot Key is disables as well. If so, you will have to enable it.
Q: It says I can’t enable the legacy option ROMS with PTT enabled
A: Go into the Security Tab and try to Disable PTT Security. If that does not work, then skip that step, and continue with the rest of the video. If you cannot locate the options to switch between or if switching does not work, then skip that step and continue with the rest of the video :)

@@TheSaturdaySpot After a liquid spill, you want to first make sure the computer is 100% dry. You would turn your computer off immediately by pressing and holding the power button until the computer turns off. Then you would disassemble the computer as much as your comfortable with, at least trying to remove the bottom case. Then you would turn it on its side and let dry for a couple days. Have you done this yet or are you sure the computer is dry?

Look for UEFI in the boot tab... My BIOS on my ancient H55 mother board doesn't show boot configuration. But shows UEFI with an enable or disable option. I set it to enable and it worked.

All BIOS are different. Some require you to use the tab keys, arrow keys, etc. If you cannot find anything that works, try an external keyboard or mouse :)

@@pratyushshahi972 Perhaps yes. If the other HDD also read as not being available, perhaps the issue is with the motherboard. Or, if the HDD has a HDD connector of some kind, a board or a cable, that may need to be replaced.

@@grdxgygc1125 If you cannot locate the options to switch between or if switching does not work, then skip that step and try to reinstall Windows as seen here; kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHrPiGefopKnqJY. You can create your own Windows Install Media as seen here; kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZC4mZx-iMiUias. If the install fails, it could be due to a bad Hard Drive. If reseating the drive does not help, replace it as seen here; kzbin.info/www/bejne/qn_TZn6YpJ6ofsk. Then you would have to install Windows onto the new one.

This is a few years old, but I got this error this morning. I followed the steps for switching to Legecy, but I didn’t have the option too. The only option it gives me is the UEFI. Weirdly enough, picking it again (even though it was my only option) fixed the issue. My computer has been having problems since the day I got it, so it didn’t come off the shelf built the way it was supposed to. I’ve been meaning to get it checked, but haven’t had the time. I’ve only had this thing for 4 years, and it’s given me more problems than my laptop from 2008 that lived until 2019. And that old laptop only stopped being used because it couldn’t display the screen anymore. But anyway, it did work out, but is it odd that I don’t have an option to switch to Legacy? There wasn’t even a ‘disable/enable’ thing either. The only thing I can think would be odd is that this Acer laptop is geared more towards handling games. That and it was built in 2019 and doesn’t seem to have been built that well.

@@PC_Monkey the only thing I see is a black screen with a small square icon in the center with a circle inside and a red question mark in the lower right corner. There is text that says “No Bootable Device”, and there was not a spill or windows update. Overheating is possible as I use it for gaming, but I was only watching KZbin at the time so it seems unlikely
