Hey Lucas! Awesome! Well done. My relief lever can be pressed in all the way, so I think yours does need investigating. The steps for testing the weight and balance was spot on. We do that balance test every time we put a vehicle on the lift. Also make sure your 4 arm locks are fully engaged, sometimes the arm locks don't line up, meaning an arm can slip and cause a car to tumble. Awesome job guys!

How high is your ceiling?
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead2 жыл бұрын
Our building plans were for 12’ but we knew we needed a few inches more so we built it 12’3”. This lift stand 12’1” and it would have been easier to assemble with a little more headroom.

Looks good. What is your ceiling height? I am planning a shop and can not decide on my wall height.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I went with basically 12 foot, but I built it and poured my concrete to have a finished inside height of 12’2”. The lift says minimum clearance is 12’1”.

@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead thanks for the fast response. I also have a quad cab Ram 2500. I was wondering if you know the height under the truck when lifted to the top? That might help me decide wall height and lift style.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead2 жыл бұрын
@@weekendhack.whatsnext Well, I haven’t raised the truck yet, but they said this lift will raise 6’ using the adapters. If that’s the case, I am expecting to be able to walk under it standing tall. I guess it is possible that the cab will trigger the stop before I reach full height. I may try to get it on the lift soon. If I do I’ll update…
@weekendhack.whatsnext2 жыл бұрын
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead That is exactly what I was curious about. If the truck would trigger the shutoff. I am 6 foot tall and if I am going to buy a lift then I do not want to be hunching over to use it. I will be looking for that update. Thanks again!

When you are ready to remove the loose wedge anchors and replace them with epoxy anchors (without damaging the concrete), let me know.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead Жыл бұрын
What’s the process for replacing them? Drill the old ones out first?
@5eyes1294 Жыл бұрын
Here is the trick. Take a big 7” angle grinder and fashion a 1-1/8” socket to the threaded arbor. This will be your high speed removal tool. Now you need a method to apply light upward pressure to the old wedge anchor. My method was a small piece of c-channel about 6” long. I drilled a hole at one end and set it over the anchor then put the nut back on but not tight. Weld nut to stud. Place the angle grinder with the socket onto the nut and let her rip while gently pulling upward on the small c-channel. The wedge gets hot enough to soften and wear down to the hole diameter. It takes about 3 mins to remove each anchor. Now you have a 3/4” hole for which you can use 5/8 epoxy anchoring with B7 grade threaded rod which is stronger than the cheap 3/4” wedge anchors.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead Жыл бұрын
@@5eyes1294 awesome! I have had in the back of my mind the worry of what I’d do if/when I need to swap them out. Thanks for the information!
@5eyes1294 Жыл бұрын
No problem. Also when you have the anchors epoxied in place, you can use a nylon lock nut on the stud
@5eyes1294 Жыл бұрын
Get rid of the wedge anchors and use epoxy anchors. If not, make sure to check the wedge anchors regularly. They will loosen up, guaranteed.
