While I agree, he did have seven consecutive top 5 hits and was one of the most successful artists of the 80's and 90's. Not too shabby, but he still doesn't get the recognition he deserved.

Underrated? Dude was one of the top song writers of the 1980s and first half of the 1990s. Many major hits and even wrote major hits for others. 1 Grammy, nominated for another 4. Won like 14 pop music awards, nominated for around 20 Billboard awards. Dude is very recognized for his works.

My husband was never one to say “I love you “ or be romantic. Sometimes I would wonder if he did, but I didn’t dwell on it, until one night in the pub I was a little drunk and I said to my husband “ you never tell me how you feel about me. Do me a favour and put a song on just for me “ and he went to the jukebox and put this song on, I was so happy. But the moral to this is, a week after that night my husband died in a car accident. And I would often think back on our lives together later. I remembered how he would often cook my dinner when I had done overtime, came home with a dress I had admired once walking past the shop, bought me a Bruce Springsteen album even though he hated him, and still ate the Christmas dinner I had burned and said it was good! What I’m trying to say is that just because someone doesn’t say those 3 little words, it doesn’t matter, actions speak louder than words. And those little things say them loud and clear. Doesn’t stop me crying whenever I hear this song though! Sorry, I’m not trying to be a pity party! It’s a long time ago but anybody can say “I love you “ but not many Springsteen haters can put up with him day and night, and say nothing when you’ve eaten your wife’s burnt Christmas dinner and break a bit of tooth from it and say it was lovely! That’s love 😂😂

I worked in the Mall of America the first year they were open and for the month of December, they had singers/musicians playing at lunch every day in the main rotunda.
