As a young woman of that era, a "joker", was a good hearted player. You did not put your heart on the line with these boys, because they were all the original free spirit. But they weren't users. Well said lady. I appreciate your point of view. I was a free spirit that never had an evil intent in my soul. I guess that was attractive to the ladies that I had an opportunity to know. I never hurt a soul or caused a long- lasting sorrow that I know of. (more the opposite heh).

The word "pompitous" or "pompatus" stems from Steve Millers mishearing of the phrase "puppetutes of love" in the 1954, Vernon Green song "The Letter" in which he used the words "puppetutes of love"... his combination of "puppets" and "prostitutes". A puppetute being a woman of your fantasies who would do.

I don't recall the others that I ordered, but 13 were in the box when it was delivered. Thinking back, I don't think I fulfilled my contract to purchase an album each month for a year at full cost...
