Chaka Kahn used her own name in a rap as well. It’s called “I Feel For You”. It’s a song by her featuring Rufus who does the rapping. You should check it out.

There is no person named Rufus in Rufus. Thats the band name. The rapper in "I Feel For You" is Melle Mel of Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five.

Chaka Kahn and Rufus: "Ain't Nobody". " Tell Me Something Good" Also, from the same time frame, Stephanie Mills...."Home". "Feel the Fire". " Feel Good All Over" (these 3 songs can all be heard separately ( Home ...video from The Apollo or VeVo or from the mini outdoor concert from Singer's Summer Jam). Watching her do these songs live back to back is outstanding ( watch the entire thing as she comes back for an encore). Stephanie can sang! Both Chaka and Stephanie are the epitome of "the little are mighty". Get yourself a stereo sound system for those LP's of your dads. You need the seperate speakers for the optimum sound. Vinyl is the best for capturing the sound. Nothing else compares.
@traciemack6168Ай бұрын
You do need to get a system to listen to your Dad's albums. I have a standing jigsaw puzzle date with a friend once a week. Sometimes we listen to music, sometimes no. My favorite times are when we listen his parents' albums (we're in our 60s). You can't even buy a needle from music stores, they have to be ordered online. My friend spends a lot of time cleaning the needle. Even in their sleeves the albums get dusty.

You should react to the live version of Chaka Khan and Rufus - Tell me something Good. She was known at the Queen of Funk. In the early 1970s she was the lead vocalist of the funk band Rufus. Try to stop your eyes from popping out and your jaw from dropping when you see her performing at 20 or younger.

Sat two rows back from Vanessa Williams right after she became the first African American Miss America.

Awesome 80s song...Dave Foster is a frickin genius!
@monicarichards1473Ай бұрын
Thanks for the reaction. I'm gonna have to lambaster you again😂😂😂. That Steve winwood song with Chaka she was not in the video but dropped a quick background track for the audio part near the end. I believe the story went that she was recording somewhere in the studio where he was recording and was a fan so he asked her if she would add. Something to the song and that's what she added. I'm almost certainly shouldn't was uncredited. But as you know, her voice is recognizable. So people recognize that right away. Same thing with Patty Labelle and the song. "I wanna know what love is". At the end part with the choir, that's her voice in the doing those high notes, but she's not in the video. And I believe she's uncredited as well, but Patti voice is very distintced so people picked it up and like Chaka it was very common back then to do that when you were a small artist back in the 80's. Without getting credit.

Produced by David Foster. Written by him, the late Cynthia Weil and Tom Keane. This is the original release. 40 years 🎂. Great 👍 1980s song 🎵. This was released in the same year as I Feel for You, which is from the album of the same name. Covers in The Philippines 🇵🇭. David Foster performed this song 🎵 with Morissette Amon in March 2023. Gigi de Lana sang this also. 5:52. Production. David Foster was also producing Chicago and the late Kenny Rogers in the same year. Suggested videos 📹: 1 Chaka Khan sings Ain't Nobody live. 2 Robert Palmer and Chaka Khan sing Addicted to Love. 3 Chicago performs You're the Inspiration. 4 The Tubes perform She's a Beauty. 5 Kenny Rogers sings Crazy.

_I Feel For You_ was the song I got hooked on in the fall of 1984. Charting high it saved their recording contract with Arista Records who was going to drop them if they didn't come up with a hit song and sell some albums. Up until then they had a niche following.

Don't worry about admiring women and speaking it out loud. It's human nature to be attracted to many others, not just the one we're with. I just think it's refreshing that you're not afraid to speak it even though you are married. Even though it could get you in trouble. You just speak your thoughts. Which I like. I would have to say this is her best song. But she's very talented and has an incredible voice.

She sweet sticky thick & pretty! You should see a pic of her that was also a poster, she’s in a brown leather native Indian regalia, sitting on a couch that’s a replica of lips, & in all her 20’s glory. Her rhythmic style & placement of phrasing, in addition to her vocal power, has earned her the nickname of ‘Queen Of Funk’. I Feel Fo You featured rap o.g. Melle Mel of Grandmaster Flash & Furious 5 fame. It is Melle Mel that Whitney is quoting when she repeats Chaka’s name towards the end of the I’m Every Woman cover track, which Chaka had done over 10 yrs before Whitney’s version. She even had a video of herself superimposed several times to invoke the theme. This was of course some years before the video craze really took off with t.v. channels totally dedicated to them. Other Chaka Ain’t Nobody; Watcha Gonna Do For Me; I Know You, I Live You. Further back to the ‘70’s with the band Rufus: Tell Me Something Good (written by Stevie); Once You Get Started; Yu’ve Got the Love (funk jam). She also did a cover of Michael Jackson’s Got to be There. 👍🏾🎶
