We made a dash to Tresco as storm Agnes was due, had an unexpected night in the New Inn and then three nights at the Sea Garden Cottages.

Hi Pene. Lovely to see you this afternoon. So glad you've managed to get away. Being somewhere you love definitely gives you a boost. We were lucky here with the storm. It rained hard and was a bit blustery. I had my hospital appointment this morning. I was happy with the outcome and now have a plan of action. Have a lovely holiday, take care. Xx

Very nice! To get to the islands, is it only accessible via a helicopter ride, or are there ferries?

You can get here by small plane but they go from Land's End and if it is misty or bad weather they can be cancelled. The boat is called the Scillonian but locals call it the Sickonian as it is flat bottomed and can handle the roughest of seas, well mostly; occasionally it is cancelled. It takes 2 and a half hours. The helicopter is the most expensive but most reliable and takes about 14 minutes. Sometimes that is cancelled due to maintenance issues! Getting to the scilly isles is a bit of an adventure.! 2 1/2 hours choppy sea ride vs. 14 minutes by air. I'd take that helicopter too. I've never been in one. But seeing things from the air, whether by plane, copter or drone, is always so dramatic and breathtaking.😍🤗
