1:01:30 Fun fact : The king he's referring to here is Louis the XIVth, and yes, pretty much every moments of his day was watched almost religiously by dozens of courtisans in Versailles. It was actually considered a great honor for a noble to have a role to play during those moments, from the king's shoes bearer to literally (and this is 100% true, it happened.) be the one who wipes the king's ass after he'd taken a shit (again, I am not making this up). It was seen not only as a chance to be literally next to the messenger of God (he was also named the "Sun King") but also as a place and time where the king's ears were all yours, and thus a place of power. It was pretty much the embodiment of absolutism.

The last dream I vividly remember was in 2020 after the lakers won the championship.I dreamt that I was celebrating the championship with the lakers team when I decided to head to the team plane.I walked through the locker room doors and was immediately on the plane.For some reason the plane was parked in one of those multi level parking lots you see at airports.I don't see a pilot so i ask who's gonna fly the plane.Dwight Howard says he knows how to fly a plane so he hops in the pilot seat preparing for liftoff.Every thing is fine until he flys straight into the building's supporting pillars breaking off one of the wings. The plane lifts off a bit before crashing into the ground.

The Governor general is her representative in australia, it is the top role that signs off on all legislation passed in parliament, the benefit is that should we ever have a dictator (either from the far left or right) then they have to get past her approval, and if they don't she (her representative the governor-general) is also the head of the military and would demand the hypothetical dictator to step down, if he doesn't then the military removes him or if the military proves disloyal then it basically gives the australian people free reign to resist the now illegitimate government. If she ever abuses those powers then the solution is simple we vote on a republic but considering it's failed twice I'd say we are pretty happy with the status quo, other benefits include the question of whether if another nation declares war on australia would that also be considered a declaration of war on her majesty and therefore the other dominions (UK, Canada and New Zealand etc) it is essentially holdovers from the british empire, but I doubt people from degenerate republics would understand and would dumb it down to "kissing her feet" and non-existent taxes.
@theskyisteal83462 жыл бұрын
The british royal family did not willingly give up their power. There was this one king who did so much deficit spending that he had to take out loans from the noble houses and those nobles bullied him into giving up his power to them (I think that led directly to the house of lords)

Dreams are a way for the brain to process all the stimuli we experience throughout the day. And we DO DREAM EVERY NIGHT. It's just sometimes we can't remember them at all as 80% of the dream is instantly forgotten as you wake up. The brain records memories and stores them in their synapses, which are like long roadways and tunnels throughout the brain. And when we dream your brain replays those synapses creating similar or ALTERNATIVE images producing what we experience as dreams

I feel like a good question to ask about dreams would’ve been “when we dream are we perceiving what’s happening in another life, alternate reality, different outcome, or what’s happening in another dimension”. Edit: scientists usually go with REM as an explanation but I’m referring to dreams that don’t exactly come from desire or the sense of a want because of course since it’s your brain your desires and wants can influence what you think. But I’m referring to dreams that don’t derive from those desires or wants such as dreams to where it feels surreal to where you could bet something important or close to you that you felt like it happened somewhere or to an extended version of yourself.
@reggaerarify3 жыл бұрын
I think dreams could be an evolutionary mechanism for consciousness. You have epigenetic triggers that get set off by your ancestors behavior and your own, environmental conditions you experience etc and these triggers can impact your personality, behavior and even physicality. It seems like common sense dreams could be a physical way for your brain to decompress, process and sort information and memories functionally but what if they are also a way for you to problem solve and extrapolate on concepts with your imagination subconsciously (what if i could fly? what if i jumped off a building? what if i got eaten by a monster from X movie?) to have a better understanding with your waking consciousness while saving energy and maximizing your time while you're alive but not awake. Maybe im just a burned out pot smoker but it makes some sense to me? Anyway hell yeah OP!!!
@Sebarants3 жыл бұрын
It's probably just that your brain isn't gonna completely shut down while you sleep, because then you'd just be dead. So the lack or sensory input or even conscious thoughts cause it to wander in weird directions. Though I haven't read up on this shit either
