The key to beating the helicopter besides getting like a hellcat is to utilize bridges and tall buildings when you have good distance. Helicopters are limited in movement in cities and obviously can’t go under bridges, so you can drive in unpredictable ways and come out without heat. Dont ask me how I know this.

It could take you upwards of 2 seconds (about as long as it takes to just initially react to an incoming accident) to slow down to a survivable speed, and a head on collision would put that survivable speed into doubt. 70 is very dangerous when people drive recklessly.

They didn't watch the criminal do that, they had a helicopter overhead which later spotted an open garage and suspected he may have gone in, a suspicion that was only confirmed later as he ran _out_ of the house.

tips for a police chase: 1. If they get close enough to your car to see your license plate pull over, they will come to your house later. 2. If your car is slower then the police car pull over. 3. If they bring out a helicopter your screwed pull over. 4. Keep the chase as short as humanly possible, find a place to hide your car around a corner.

I've seen 4 chases where the suspect got away. Everytime, they get under an overpass, either get out and act like a pedestriam, or snag another car or getaway vehicle under the bridge/overpass. It's chopper kryptonite, you just need enough distance from any cruiser.

So my mom and dad lived in LA in the 70s and 80s. They had scanners and would drive around following calls to go be nosy and see the action. They moved to OR when shit got really hairy. Also, I watched a police chase through my tiny OR town a couple weeks ago 3 motorcycles and several police. They terminated pursuit eventually because it was unsafe speeds of 90-100 but it was very entertaining to stand outside and watch these bikes taking advantage of all of our one-way streets to get away.

If you’re in a high speed chase and have a heli on you I think your best bet is to find a parking garage, dump the car and either steal a different car or hide inside an attached building. A mall with a parking garage would be ideal. I’ve probably spent a little too much time thinking this thru
