The W D-40 will break down your grease and wash it off your gears,. It is a degreasing agent. You should only clean your reel with it then wipe it out of your reel and use reel grease and oil to lube your reel. the WD-40 will eventually evaporate. After it has washed the grease off your gears and leave your gears dry and prone to rust and corrode.

I love WD40 too, but don’t overdose it in there as it works against the grease. Since I can’t get any Penn lube around here n Sydney, I went with some 10W-40 synthetic oil I had lying around to coat everything in there then added regular grease.

My shaft after taking screws off won't pull out don't wanna break it so I guys I have to send it to penn before I throw it in the trash

Hi dear. I have bought two Penn Battle 2 6000s but to my surprise both have sort of crack at the top end of the bail arm. Can someone please confirm do all reels come like this or are mine damaged ? Thanks.

are there upgrades i can do? was planning on cleaning and greasing my 6000 but since i’m taking it apart anyway wanted to know if maybe i can upgrade bearings or anything else?

this reel is perfect with my diawa bg system 1002mh 2-5oz. casts super far!! why not push it some more haha

I am having a problem with my Penn Fierce II 6000 when I am fishing and line is going out it constantly tightens the drag until it locks the reel up. It actually turns the gray knob on its on as the reel turns. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem.
