Hey I'm doing this curriculum this upcoming school year ❤
@rollingwiththerouses39183 жыл бұрын
How exciting! I used my fathers world for my oldest 2nd grade and stopped after because of the same reason of having so many littles. But I go on thier website every year and look at their curriculum because I do love it!!

We will be using this curriculum in the fall. I'm so excited!

We have the exact same Exploring Creation with Chemistry and Physics...I'm not sure we've actually used it yet. It was really interesting to see how it's all set up!
@LifeintheMundane3 жыл бұрын
I love that it includes apologia and story of the world!

We have used MFW from K through ECC & have loved it! Looking forward to Creation to the Greeks next year.

We are doing the apologia curriculum too.

Thank you for showing us. I am looking at it. But I think I want the Persia book anyway.

Oh Megan. I literally just decided to finish Notgrass US history for next year and then use Simply Charlotte Mason the following year for Genesis and Ancient Egypt. Now you're making me rethink things!! This looks amazing.
@PenniesAndSalt3 жыл бұрын
You might want to check out Creation to the Greeks because it covers the time period you are looking into. It's so well laid out. I really love MFW.
@stephanien17643 жыл бұрын
@@PenniesAndSalt have you ever tried curriculum from Simply Charlotte Mason? Specifically their History/Geography/Bible?
@MitchellsonaMission3 жыл бұрын
We are using MFW for Kindergarten and absolutely love it. I have purchased Mystery of History and Story of the world for this upcoming school year for my 3rd and 4th grader but seriously rethinking it after seeing this 🥴🤣
@PenniesAndSalt3 жыл бұрын
We actually attempted MOH year before last. It just was not a good fit for us and was kinda over my kids' heads because it was a bit dry for their age range. However, I have heard many others enjoy it!
@mommyonthemove253 жыл бұрын
Awesome flip through! Wow, this curriculum covers alot. Love how it breaks down everything for you.
@DaninaFarmsNina3 жыл бұрын
We left MFW this year for Masterbooks for some the same reason you stated. I definitely see us returning in a few years. Thank you for this detailed flip-through!
@PenniesAndSalt3 жыл бұрын
Yes! We left it for 2 years. I got to the point this year where I just really longed to go back to it. I love the way everything is done. We have had many wonderful "family" moments with the first 3 years we used it. I'm ready for that again.
@DaninaFarmsNina3 жыл бұрын
@@PenniesAndSalt Yes!! I hated to leave because I love the family style learning but it was over the kids' heads and they didn't have the attention span for all the material. We will be back once everyone is atleast elementary school age.

Thanks for this quick review as I am thinking if purchasing My Fathers World 1850 to Modern times too. I have been looking into this homeschool curriculum this year to use for all my children. I like that it can be use for multiple children and that it is very hands on with projects and not just reading.
@PenniesAndSalt3 жыл бұрын
Oh yay! I hope it was helpful! I'm really excited about it!

Will you go through the entire SOTW text in this year of MFW? Also, does the teacher manual tell you which student pages from SOTW to use?

Always so helpful Megan❤ how can I get the list of recommended reads from MFW? Would love more suggestions!
@PenniesAndSalt3 жыл бұрын
You may be able to find it on the website based on clicking the different history packages.
@meditateonthis5442 жыл бұрын
What would you say the benefits are of using this package vs. story of the world as a stand alone ? I’m considering this for history next year, after using sonlight, which I’ve enjoyed, I’ve decided I need to try and find something that’s for everyone, because I’ve been doing 2 cores this year abd it’s a lot
@PenniesAndSalt2 жыл бұрын
My Father’s World schedules it in for you. Everything is laid out in a nice schedule with read alouds, state studies, Story of the World, and American History. We enjoy it a lot.

I am considering MFW for my daughter (2nd grade next year). This will be our first year doing other things besides just the basics (math/language arts/reading/writing). Do you suggest we start with Adventures in US History?
@PenniesAndSalt3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! We LOVED Adventures!!! The read alouds, the contents, etc... we LOVED it!
@saraatintochristlikeness90983 жыл бұрын
Just curious, why did you choose to start with 1850-modern times instead of ECC?
@Saras_place3 жыл бұрын
Same question ..how did you start?
@PenniesAndSalt3 жыл бұрын
Because my kids have already done a culture and geography study through our co-op and we have been doing history from the exploration-1850ish time period this year. I chose to start with 1850-Modern to fit our family. Since it’s set up on a cycle I don’t think it will matter in the long run. My kids are going to be 2nd, 4th, and 6th grade and a 1st grader that is on the same level as my 2nd grader
@Saras_place3 жыл бұрын
