I was taught on the big transmitters to let the tube bake a bit after replacing it. Don't have hours but long as we can let it all balance out before laying on the high voltage which is gonna be bumpy until it's tuned up you don't want to just nail it. Wouldn't assume the smaller ones would be any different. Glad there are others in the game making tubes.

Hey I'm going to call you tomorrow right before lunch time. I know you're a busy man but I'll talk to you about a month ago. And we were talking about 2879c in a straight six pill box. Took me a while to gather up the materials and the Teflon wire appropriate size that I need to use to actually get 4 wraps in the transformer. I bought the 14-gauge wire and I couldn't get 4 wraps out of it. so I dropped it down to 16 gauge wire and it's all Teflon. I just want to know if the 16 do8 is the same tune for the 23 do8. Because what I've heard they vary from year to year.
