Pentagon is one hell of a criminally underappreciated group. They have some of the best vocals in K-Pop, some of the best choreos, and they write and produce their own music as per CUBE artist fashion. Pentagon started out with a sort of cool boy group concept then around 2017 they shifted to a more cute concept with the songs Pretty Pretty, Shine, Naughty Boy, and Humph. They also have less cute dorky concepts and more cool ones such as SHA LA LA. This year though, they shifted into a more mature and darker concept with Dr. BeBe, then they appeared on Road To Kingdom and made the song Basquiat, a revolution anthem of sorts. Then they came out with Daisy, an alt rock influenced angsty and emotional song. This song is part of an album, yes, called WE:TH, their 10th mini album. Would love to see you get more into Pentagon!

OMG! YES OK, i'm gonna try and not freak out too much... first off: I'm so inmensely proud of my boys. They did such an amazing job with Daisy. So I don't really know where to start... for one, their songs are mostly self-composed and written by (some of) the members. Hui, (black longer hair with a white shirt on in Daisy/white themed room) the leader, takes a BIG part in this. He's the most talented and hard working person I've ever seen and I look up to him so much. For example, Daisy is written and composed by Hui and Wooseok. Hui wanted to compose an alternative rock song for a while now and Daisy is the result. He did a phenomal job if you ask me. I really enjoyed how you went through their member profiles in the beginning! Even if it was just a scroll through, I think it added a nice touch to the video. So Jinho, the oldest, enlisted into the military earlier this year and is not a part of this comeback. He's the sweetest big brother in the group and we all miss him so very much. Used to release covers every month which you should totally check out. He's a vocal coach and has one of the best voices in this industry. Hongseok (he was in the red themed scenes) is definitely known to be shirtless, he works out the most and has an insane body, he was shirtless on the cover of Men's Health once! An ongoing theme with Hongseok though is that people tend to only know him from just that, having a nice body. He has probably the most underrated vocals ever (he's the one singing the second chorus when you see the full group choreo for the first time). Shinwon (the black & white scenes in Daisy) is the most effortlessly funny man ever. I love this man so much. Deserves more lines though :D Just a random fact bc it popped into my head since your cat was there, he's scared of all animals. Or to put it better: he's afraid of hurting them... Yeoone (green themed scenes) is just his own person really. Like, idk how to explain it, but there's no one like him. Has the cutest laugh ever and is just a ray of sunshine really. GREAT vocals as well and he's recently taken part in a musical! Was also shirtless on the cover of Men's Health recently. Yanan (the purple and yellow themed scenes, you pointed out his voice!) is our Shanghai Prince. He's been on hiatus due to health issues since august 2018. Yes, 2018. And we finally got him back this comeback!! So it was kinda bittersweet since we lost Jinho but gained Yanan. Anyways, as you've noticed, has a veeerry nice voice and the VISUALS!! Prettiest man ever. Also very funny and god I just missed him so much, welcome back Yanan!! Yuto (the one with the orange-ish yellow-ish themed scenes), so not Hongseok with his chest exposed (although he also has his chest out a little) but it's Yuto! Has an iconic "yutoda" line he says sometimes before he starts his verse. Great rapper and such a sweetheart. Like he seems super intimidating by the looks of him but he's probably the softest out of all of them (SUCH a scaredy cat) Kino (blue themed room with the water) our dancing machine. He choreographs some of Pentagon's songs! He is very talented in anything he does. Such a hard worker and perfectionist. Also, veeery sensitive and just veeery cute because of it. Wooseok (outside in the rain, pronounce seok as "sock" kinda) and yes, our maknae. What I always like to point out that he is the youngest but the tallest (around 192cm) while Jinho is the oldest but the shortest! This is my bias! Ever since I heard his verse in Shine I was hooked. His personality is suuuuper goofy, just screams randomly. But when I say scream, I mean like dolphin pitched screams. He can also sing the soprano part of an opera, kinda? And he's gonna participate in Show Me the Money with Changbin! And yup, Dawn used to be a part of Pentagon! Just answering some more random questions while watching your reaction: Yes, Pentagon are insanely good actors. You will see more of this especially with their songs Basquiat and Dr. Bebe. No one's on their level in terms of showing emotion or just acting their asses off for an MV or Performance Video! They sing "it's a lie, it's all a lie" in that repeated section of Daisy. There should've been english captions available, I think it might be because you watched on 1theK's channel. Pentagon's channel has english captions for Daisy if you wanna read them! Pentagon is and is not typically like this. I had the funny sensation with Daisy where it felt like something Pentagon had never done before but then it still felt like it was very Pentagon-esce (lol). You'll have to see for youself what I mean. Their recent comebacks (Dr. Bebe, Basquiat and Daisy) have definitely been more mature, but I also very much enjoy the goofy, carefree side of the boys. It's what makes them unique and I mean, there's a reason why Shine blew up, Pentagon just does all concepts perfectly. Daisy is part of Pentagon's 10th mini album WE:TH! Would love an album reaction on that ;) ANYWAYS thanks for coming to my TED talk lol, wouldn't blame you if you didn't make it this far but I just wanted to share my love for these 9 boys

I love how even though you know absolutely nothing about Pentagon, you STILL managed to point out Yanan, who’s been on hiatus for a long while now so it’s so exciting for Unis that he’s back. Thank you for reacting to them! I’m very glad you enjoyed it so much!!! Hui, the leader, has been heavily involved in the composition, production, and writing of their songs since Like This in 2017, along with many other members participating as well, namely Wooseok (the maknae; I pronounce the “seok” as a soft “oh” sound) and Kino (the main dancer). This was the result from his wanting to write in the alternative rock genre. This album is also his last before his enlistment so we’re all really trying to promote this album and song as best we can. Thank you for reacting and loving the song. Pentagon is genius at doing that, from debut. they have a lot of songs that sound upbeat and happy till you read the lyrics then you're sad af lol. Daisy is the title track from their 10th mini album WE:TH (amazing songs here!). if you into psychological, dark theme, please react to Dr Bebe by Pentagon! for a strong, revolutionary song please react to Basquiat. they have a very diverse discography, versatile styles, please check it out. they are known for their incredible top-notch vocal line. the vocalist you liked is Yanan (the chinese member). the nearly shirtless guy you kept pointing in black who looks like a vampire (lol) is Yuto (rapper, japanese member). Also, Hui and Jinho are two of the most insanely talented, underrated vocalists of thus generation!! Jinho has enlisted in the military, but the two of them make a POWER VOCAL PAIR!! I highly suggest some of their vocal performances, like their immortal songs performance, hui’s dalla dalla cover and jinho’s when I was ur man cover!! It’s crazy how underrated they are, not enough people talk about these two’s vocals, plus hui is one of the hardest working kpop idols out there, he produces all of pentagons songs and arranges all his own covers 😭😭 although honestly this entire group has insane vocals, the guy you were asking about around 6:45 is yanan, and hongseok and kino’s vocals too omg- pentagon is amazing at acapella stuff (I recommend their into the unknown acapella cover!)

You should watch something like Pentagon's Amazing Vocals. Jinho started with SM and originally debuted with SM the Ballad (kind of like a pre-SuperM but for vocalists) with Shinee's Jonghyun, Super Junior's Kyuhyun, and TRAX's Jay Kim. Hui also has amazing vocals. I vote for ShaLaLa, Dr. Bebe, and Basquiat. If your going to watch RTK, I may have to join you--so many epic performances.

Hongseok, Yuto, and Yeo One interchangeably don’t wear shirts. I just don’t question it. The vocalist in the purple+yellow set is Yanan. He’s been on a hiatus for like, a year, so it’s nice to hear him again (he wasn’t in Basquiat or Dr. Bebe). He’s a sub vocalist but his voice is still really unique and stands out. Also their oldest member, Jinho, left for his military service earlier this year so this is their first comeback without him.

Lol theres multiple members who don’t like shirts 😂😂 the main one in this video is Yuto, the Japanese member. But Hongseok is also part of that group lol There are so many different sides to Pentagon that a lot of people don’t get to see because they don’t give them a chance if they aren’t fans of one of their concepts. I hope you check out more! We have been lucky to witness so many different styles of Pentagon which is why Universe are always so passionate about explaining the group and our love for them because we know if people actually listened to them or looked into them they would find so many amazing things. People truly sleep on Pentagon’s vocal ability and rapping as a whole. Wooseok and Yuto are killer rappers. Jinho and Hui are a couple of the best vocalists in the game (although Jinho wasn’t in this as he is completing his military service; there’s a series called Magazine Ho in which he does covers HIGHLH RECOMMEND). Hongseok and Kino have such a gorgeous sort of bright tones. Yeoone and Shinwon have a depth to their vocal tone in a way that just rounds everything out. If you couldn’t tell I always have this comment prepared 😂

0:40 so BTOB is out the question i guess...maybe you could react to BTOB...the "older" brothers of CLC, Pentagon and Gidle, most of the newer songs are ballads but interesting ballads, but like with Pentagon your are not gonna be dissapointed on vocals and interesting raps, you can check out "Missing you", "Beautiful Pain", "Movie" and many others. Ok, some info: Yes, E'Dawn (aka Dawn) got his start here. Jinho, the oldest member and main vocalist (seriously, his vocals are 110% insane) just enlisted in the army this year. The one you said looked like a vampire and asked if he was Hongseok is actually Yuto, the Japanese member and one of the rappers. He is easily distinguished by his dark, smokey voice. The one who's vocals you noted was Yanan. He's the Chinese member of the group and had actually been on hiatus for a really long time due to health reasons. This is the first comeback in a long while that features him again. All of the Universe (the fandom name) was insanely happy about this. Overall Pentagon is a highly underappreciated group. They still have no first win as of yet, despite having released a crazy amount of great eps and one studio album. They're also self produced. It's honestly a crime. In fact the leader Hui has written some hit songs for other artists as well. There is a mini album attatched to this, btw. It's called WE:TH. If you wanna get deeper into them, here are some mvs I'd recommend: Basquiat (Performance Video), Humph (shows of their cuter side), Dr. Bebe and if you want something more chill or ballad like: Like This and Violet.

Will you consider watching road to kingdom over on patreon? Pentagon was on it and they literally did SUCH a good job they deserve the world!! Performance/creativity kings omg, the other groups on rtk were the boyz, oneus, golden child, Verivery, onf, and too!! The performances on rtk are INSANE and u get so emotionally attached to the show it’s crazy LOL, anyways I highly recommend, it’s a great way to be mind blown and learn more about some extremely underrated but CRAZY talented boy groups!! All the groups on the show were ones who had no or only a couple music show wins under their belt, the whole idea was to have all the more underrated boy groups on rtk, then the winner(s) will advance to Kingdom (which has been pushed back because of covid)!

It's so tragic how unappreciated they are. They have some of the best vocalists I've ever seen in k-pop and their choreos are so unique and eye catching. Currently Jinho is enlisted in the military, so one of their top tier singers is absent in this one. To answer your question, i wouldn't say this song is what they usually do, but somehow they made it such a classic Pentagon song anyway. It's not their usual style but it's still obviously a Pentagon song. I truly hope you can react to more of them in the future. Maybe Basquiat, the revolutionary anthem? It only has a performance video as the song was made for Road to Kingdom, but it's a crazy high quality performance video.

I am also new to pentagon, but I really loved this song and all their other tracks are great as well. And the first guy you asked about who you said had good vocals is Yanan! He’s my bias lol. And he was actually recently on hiatus for a long time, but he just came back! And I’m also still learning about their sound, but I know they participated in Road to Kingdom and that this is their first official comeback since then, so I’m sure the grew a lot from that show.

Their sound is pretty diverse, which makes sense since they've released a lot of music since debut. You can kind of distinguish the songs a bit by looking at which member wrote/composed them. Pentagon is a self produced group, so that gives them a unique flair. Love to see potential new Universes :)

First time here and I love your first time reaction to Ptg too!! just keep in mind Pentagon make their own music and some choreo too. Pentagon bring various theme, but yes these days they getting darker vibe. Check the live stage version, they do full choreo there. Yes they do have vocal power, just wait until you check other songs you'll be amazed. They are a good dancer do, their choreo also unique and and have some uncommon detail move. Also get put many small interesting details and beat on their music. Maybe you wanna check the show called Road To Kingdom. Pentagon get more recognition from that show after being slept on for a long time. Check their live stage there and how good they do a cover songs. anyway... Lots of people are recommending their most recent releases, Dr. Bebe and Basquiat (both definitely worth watching!) but I would also add from their older stuff "Like This," which sort of has the same powerful/energetic but kind of painful feel to it. The lyrics are super inspiring, it's one of my favorite songs by them. "Violet" is another one, probably errs more on the side of melancholy than peppy, but it still has energy to it and it's also a good song.

Nope, the one who's not really wearing a shirt is Yuto, although you're right, it usually is Hongseok. Also, these boys haven't had their first win yet, even with Shine. Don't know how. Dr. BeBe, Basquiat, and now Daisy have all been contenders for SOTY, at least for me. Would highly suggest you check out their stuff! Multiple genres, but always a distinct Pentagon feel. By the way, if you check out Basquiat, there is no official mv, but the performance video is basically an mv in and of itself.

There is a mini-album with this; it's called WE:TH. "Seok" (as in Hongseok and Wooseok) can be pronounced anywhere between "sock" and "suck". For the record, the official video (on Pentagon's channel; you're watching the upload on 1theK) now has subs. 🙂 But the repeated refrain is "Geojinmal", meaning "lies". "Lies, it's all lies"... The one you thought looked like a vampire was Yuto, the Japanese rapper. While they're currently a nine-member group (since Dawn left), they've been operating with eight for quite a while; Yanan's been out of action for a couple of years (originally it was a health hiatus, but it was a while before he was allowed back), and now he's back, but Jinho has been off doing his military service since May. If you like the vampire concept, you want to check out Oneus (their recent comebacks are Come Back Home and To Be or Not to Be); they have a running storyline where they play the role of vampire kings... They're pretty fire, and on the same label as Mamamoo... who you also haven't reacted to..? Blimey. Oneus also have a brother group called Onewe, who are actually a band (there's a close relationship between the two groups, and a pair of actual twins between them). ...Look, what I'm saying is check 'em out, alright? I'm an InSomnia first and foremost, but RBW knock out some _really_ solid groups. 😉

Thanks for all the info! One of my biggest pet peeves in K-pop is how they upload the MV to like three different KZbin channels yet sometimes don't have subs on some. There are a ton of big groups I plan on getting to eventually like Mamamoo, EXO, GOT7, Monsta X, GFRIEND, ect. It just feels overwhelming to do them all at once and I want to do the group justice by concentrating on their music more on and off camera.

@@KpopPrince I'm always lairy about the multiple uploads for a different reason; the total views is an amalgam, usually, of the artist's own official channel, and whatever outlet they've affiliated with at the time (1theK, Stone etc). If anything happens to the video on that affiliate's channel (however likely or unlikely that is, it's completely out of the label's hands), that's a crapton of views down the chute... And no pressure! My posts can be a bit stream-of-consciousness sometimes, but I like to be as informative as I can, adding whatever comes to mind as it occurs to me... 😜 Just so you're aware, there's a pretty huge crossover between InSomnia and MooMoos... 😁

I'm curious to know if you've come back to visit this and chuckled at being wrong about a thing or two. I can still clearly remember being completely shocked that it was Yan An saying "My Baby!" in Shine even though it's what he's KNOWN for... so embarrassing. I also think it's really funny about the description of Yeo One having a "nice personality". As a Universe, I'm thinking "Yes. That's a good way to describe it." - it comes off as bland and boring, but it's really not. We just know that it's Yeo One. And I'm still upset that more people don't know about "Daisy".
