No, I think most would simply prefer one Batman, doing Batman things. Not a Fanom idea of Batman, he’s not grounded, he’s not realistic, and he fought more mad scientist & monsters than he did mobsters in his early days. Batman is a magic using, Chi wielding trained Nin. Maybe, idk, use more than 10% of the character you’re adapting. People are tired of grounded Batman. We saw it with Nolan. It’s like with every adaptation more and more of the character gets stripped away, and people like yourself just cheer it on making excuses for unoriginal ideas with new bow ties. I like the Batman. I like the Penguin show. But my enjoyment is quickly lessening as is the case with others. Two decades of grounded Batman stories has fans fatigued.

I kind of agree, I myself much prefer Batman when he's dealing with all the elements that make his Universe special. Like I dig Solomon Grundy and Clayface and I adore his adventure events where he has to uncover the Ras Al Ghoul's secret plans to resurrect an Egyptian Sorceress Queen. But I think this is a move more to appeal to mass audiences. I genuinely believe if they introduced a more goofy villain like Doctor Death or the cosmic Barbatos people would goof on it like they did with the whole DCEU. It's sucky but producers generally don't wanna take the risk of losing more money. Matt Reeves's Batman was a financial success so you better believe we're gonna get more grounded Batman films. The shows can do anything tho.

They acknowledge it but the sad fact is most people couldn't care less if it's accurate to the source material or not. People generally get their impressions of a character based on the most recent films and they get perpetuated if they make money. The DCEU was a failure, we might have gotten a Batman with supernatural elements but it failed and producers don't wanna invest in something they think is gonna make them lose more money. Me personally, I would like to see a Gotham with more supernatural elements and creepy monsters. I'm waiting on Barbatos and Clayface. But the market dictates what happens. It's sucky, I know.

Matt Reeves said he would push the edge of fantastical but never go full fantastical. So villains like Mr. Freeze, Clayface, and Killer Croc could appear but they will be more grounded. Matt Reeves seems to really want Mr. Freeze in the sequel so I hope that's what we get. Obviously Gentleman Ghost won't appear it just wouldn't be possible. The Penguin might be the main villain, makes sense since everyone underestimates him, by the end of The penguin he becomes the new kingpin and in the next movie we see Batman having to take him down with the help of the new DA Harvey Dent (There might still be gang wars between the families around this time too).Also Harvey probably won't become Two face just yet. Penguin might break Joker out of Arkham to distract batman and the gcpd for a while. I don't think they are hating they are just annoyed. I don't blame them. I think the overly realistic approach to Batman is a bit boring. I would love a grounded Mr. Freeze that would be very interesting. I think something like Cold, Cold Heart could work perfectly in the Reevesverse. Arkham pretty much gave us grounded versions of Batman's fantastical villains. Just follow in Arkham's footsteps and give us that in the movies.

I like a realistic Batman but it has gone for too far, for the last 20 Years we only had grounded, realistic Batman Movies and it's a shame since with the tecnology of today, the CGI looks much more realistic than the 90's so DC should really take advantage of that, but with James Gunn's DCU we could get something like that.
