I grew up in a home with an abusive alcoholic father. I often felt like that beaten dog you talked about. I promised myself to never be like my father whenever I got married or had kids. I did break that cycle and have been married for 29 years very happily and have a wonderful son who is 26 now. My dog is my best friend and the way she looks at me reminds me to always be the person I promised myself I would be.

However I feel like I do the same thing sometimes, probably when I'm stressed out about work or family. We can only strive to have more reasons to smile than not.

Even as a young child I wasn't very fond of people. Preferred animals and plants. Then in my thirties I did a little bit of rescue work. Can honestly say that it DID NOT improve my opinion of most humans! Dogs are the living embodiment of unconditional love. They should be respected and cherished. ❤

Absolutely agree. People who are cruel to animals, especially domestic animals are aware of their loyalty, and exploit it to be cruel, knowing that there is little chance of the animal fighting back. Cowards.

Everywhere people abuse animals. It is sad and it hurts to witness. It is only weak and evil people that do it. They will be judged.
@primalengland22 күн бұрын
Yes they are weak. I meet a man everyday who owns a reactive Doberman. It is on a short leash and is muzzled, but he is the nicest man you could meet, and treats his dog with endless love and patience. It is still quite young, and I’m sure we will see a change over time.

There have been 4 German shepherd dogs abandoned in our area over the last week or so. One female traditional coloured, two puppies , a traditional and a black in our village who had mange and a black male in another place ! It does look very much like a ‘ family’ of dogs being disposed of ! Why not take them to a shelter? We have a 5 month old pup and I couldn’t bear to treat him like that! Years ago comedian and rambler Mike Harding said about putting these sort of people on an island together, but added “ but don’t let them breed-or we’re all buggered! “ Love to you and Molly hope she’s soon feeling better! Unable to watch or listen to this one. The title was enough to make my heart ache. I walk dogs and care for animals in my neighborhood. There are a handful of homes where the dog, or dogs, are pretty much confined to their backyards, 24/7. I call them backyard prisons. Their lives seem sad and lonely, and I have no idea if anyone ever talks to them, or kisses the top of their head. I make it a point to talk to them, sometimes through a fence where I cannot see them, but I tell them, I'm sorry they have such a life, that they deserve better, and that they are a "good dog!" I pray (not religious) that they escape, and run free one day before they leave this planet.💔

It bothers me too,Nigel, when I see or hear people abusing animals or children. I and my siblings were spanked for punishment and I promise d my daughter the first time I held her in my arms that I would never strike her in any way. In 42 years I only hit her once and immediately regretted it and held her, both of us in tears. You are right that people do to others what was done to them. Unfortunately it is usually done to lesser or smaller beings. The time to worry I think is when people like you are no longer bothered by abuse. Kudos to you for standing up to that bullying creature 🎉. Keep on keeping on, my dear friend ❤

Theres this house in the back where we didnt know them when i moved back into my parents but my other neighbor hated them and i soon found out why. In the country there are stray cats sometimes and im a softie amd look after them and one day my side neighbor called me to tell me the back neighbor was SHOOTING at one of them and i flew off the handle. I took my side neighbor with me cus i didnt feel comfortable going alone and confronted him and ill tell you i know what pure evil is now and im so glad they moved and the new neighbor is just lovely. He didnt deny it and he was doi g it infront of his daughter which broke me even more but there was nothing but evil behind those eyes. Im so happy i found youre channel i feel safe to share here.

Animals, such as cats and dogs, understand the language of love. Talk to them in English, Spanish, German, French...it doesn't matter. Talk to them lovingly, and they will understand what you're saying. They are pure love.

Yes, I feel the same Nigel. To see an animal being mistreated is to have hit rock bottom. I had this experience too Nigel…I ran after the man who was beating his Rottweiler and shouted at him to stop, but could do nothing on my own. I later reported him to the RSPCA …they said these people know how to get round the law…it made me sick with fury!

I can't abide cruelty to animals. It breaks my heart to see them being abused. 💔 My new dog has some aggression issues. He's a Yorkie with little dog syndrome. I tell people he's a short legged rottweiler! 😂 It's probably fear aggression as he may not have been well socialised. His previous owner was elderly and couldn't walk. Also, they think he might have been abused before they got him as he's scared of men, especially if they're wearing boots. He's an absolute softie in the house, a proper lapdog and I've fallen head over heels in love with him, but our walks can be quite stressful with lots of snarling and barking. I've only ever had laid back, friendly dogs, so I'm hoping his confidence soon develops so we can enjoy stress free walks.

You should never beat a dog that said, however, as an owner of a large breed dog, you do have to project strength and leadership to them. I use stern looks for no no's and treats to reinforce obedience. Im always in awe of Molly not needing a lead,my westie would get sidetracked and be off chasing everything . On the confrontational thing ,thats why you grt a big dog ( but i don't have a manly haircut😊) peace & love to everyone ☃️🐶

It's terrible that animals are treated so badly. I don't know what's the matter with the owners. However, I do remember at times seeing kids torturing (yes, that's the right word) stray kittens. I often wonder whether, if their parents caught them, what sort of punishment they would get. Whether they would get a good spanking from their dad (which could perpetuate the cruelty) or whether they would get some sort of punishment that would involve a lesson on how cruelty is bad. Now I'm rambling!
@primalengland22 күн бұрын
I know what you mean. There are many families out there where physical punishment is used to such a degree that it just perpetuates down the generations.

Hi Nigel, I hope you feel better after letting off steam, it’s hard sometimes to maintain a positive mindset amidst the pressures of our society and not always easy to escape apart from the confines of our own homes. I find bad news stories about children and animals being abused or murdered actually stay in my head hurting me inwardly long after the stories have moved on and I try to limit listening and watching news coverage but it’s impossible to escape….. I think your ideas about hobbies and keeping busy helps counteract these negative vibes in our lives. Blessings to you and little Molly that she soon perks up back to her happy little self 🥰

Thank you for making this video. I did however find it a very difficult watch and it triggered me emotionally. My dad physically abused all of us children (4 of us) under the guise of ‘discipline’ and was then arrested on a Christmas Day for assaulting my mum. He had also abused our pet dog in the past. I totally agree with you that the abuser may also have experienced the same type of abuse as a child and therefore sees nothing wrong in what he does (and my dad did). Anyone who abuses animals, children, the elderly or the vulnerable is showing who they are - I would not allow such a person into my life. I can remember walking home, in Whitstable, Kent. I witnessed a man verbally abusing a young boy. The boy was walking behind him and a woman crying, head down - and I could see he was distraught. As the man started off yelling at him again and swearing I intervened telling him to stop. He marched across the road and I was prepared to protect myself as he was f…..ing and blinding and I thought he would lash out but I held my ground. The experience left me shaken but glad I said something, even if only to show the boy there were people who cared enough to intervene and speak up. Peace and love ❤️
@primalengland13 күн бұрын
It’s very brave to intervene, but sometimes your emotions just take over. I’ve found in my life that I gravitate towards like minded people, so I’ve never come across any sort of abuse in my own life. I count myself very lucky.

I'd say if there's any human that deserves a pet, it's you, Nigel. It's clear to me you give Molly the best life possible. Just this video, I was watching her trotting around, without a care in the world, exploring the world...I wouldn't bet the house on it, but maybe when you yelled at the guy that was mistreating the dog, you gave him something to think about, a wake up call. You did a good thing, and at least he didn't get physical with you...And anytime you need to get something off your chest, Nigel, I'm happy to listen. 🙂

I would've been distraught if i'd have seen someone beat their dog. I would like to think i would get my phone out and film them and put it on social media but in reality you are kind of worried if doing that , how the person will react to it. I avoid dog walking areas at the weekend . You get the pent up families with their kids and dogs just running a muck, screaming at each other, do they have ANY self awareness?? If anything comes on the news about wars or violence or anything really depressing i turn it off. I'm sick of hearing about all these countries fighting with each other. On the plus side we'll be adopting another dog soon so its nice to think we'll be giving another furry friend a loving home it maybe didn't have before =)

Not sure... as I walk in my neighborhood, I see dogs barking at me and so unhappy. I'm out of line here... but I feel no one should consider having a pet if they cannot take care of themselves. All dog breeds can be the best companion... man's best friend.
