For the second one. I myself don’t have an eating disorder but I have a health issue where if I don’t eat something within a time window I get sick and can vomit. It’s a genetic thing cause my mom and her mom have it. It’s important to eat when you need to and not ignore it. Physical/mental health is important and there is no room for compromising. If he actually loved them then he would have explained to his family about why they needed to eat but in a discreet manner. Like “They have a health requirement where they need to eat within a window if time.” Or something like that. With him being upset at them, it showed he cared more about his image than the person he was dating. How despicable.

I was on the path to develop an eating disorder. I would eat less and less every meal and even start to miss meals. My family didn't see anything though I would see my parents at least once to twice a week. My ex got worried and convinced me to go to a doctor and she told me to see a therapist. I was reluctant but did it anyways. After the first session he told me I was in a stage of early anorexia and if I was willing to treat it now it wouldn't become too serious. I absolutely hated my body at the time and did a lot of changes in my life thanks to my therapist. I only weighed 45kg for 1m60 and was losing weight. I realised my family was a part of the problem. My sister and father would constantly fat shame me and my brothers and mother would agree or just let it happen. I decided to see them less often and kept seeing my therapist. Anyone who would try to talk me or shame me out of my progress or treatment I would cut them of immediately. Fast forward 2 years later I am better. I eat when I want to and need to but I still fight against that little voice in my head saying I'm too fat to eat this or that. It's still hard for me whenever there are times with huge meals like Christmas and I can't help myself from feeling guilty or when all my friends want to go out to get something very fat like burgers or pizza. My therapist is still helping me a lot and today I know I'm strong enough to fight it and I'll keep fighting as long as the little voice will be there.

1: Eric crossed the line the moment he laid a hand on Zoey's cat. Idk if they broke up, but they definitely should if not already. People who think just because they are with you and therefore have rights to everything you have are the worst. Sure, in relationships you split things, but there is a level of trust and privacy. He broke that, and suffered the immediate consequence. If he couldn't handle that then he should have thought twice before "loosing" the cat. 2: what the heck. Why is the BF willing to risk their health for familial approval? Why does their relationship ride on their appearance to their family members? If he can't acknowledge or even try to understand the things they're going through then they shouldn't be together. I'm glad they broke up. 3: bro. Dude was really freeloading and tried to justify it by saying "but it's my house!!" Or whatever he said. He straight up lied to their face. If he can't let the kids use the pool even for a day then he should start looking for a job ffs. THEN he put the blame on op and antagonized them in front of his friends?!? What a selfish jerk.

For the eating disorder one: I had an eating disorder a while back and in order to recover it’s so important to eat as soon as you feel any hunger. Because when I had the ED I saw being hungry as a sign of “progress”. The mere feeling of hunger felt a bit like a reward because it meant I hadn’t been eating. When in recovery it’s important to change your mindset about the feeling of hunger. When confronted, this fellow tries to turn it around to make it seem like he is the victim, and the fact that his family got mad at him, tells that there is some sort of history there concerning this guy and animals. After the texts and staying at his friends place, this woman should just pack up his stuff and send him a text telling him his stuff is outside where he left the cat and he can either collect it or it will go in the trash. Make a clean break of it and count herself lucky she did not marry the jerk.

There wouldn't be an argument. He would be moving out before the sun set. That woman is so desperate to have a man that she let him stay. It's not about the pet; he's just controlling. He would have found something else to be controlling about. I can understand people who were taught negative behaviors by their family, but not people who have negative behaviors and come from good families. Where did they pick up those harmful behaviors? There is no compromise when it comes to someone's health. I bet if he told his family what he said and the conversation; they would have given him a good tongue lashing. Another controlling boyfriend story. Third story, she left work right then and there. ROFL It reminds me of a tom and jerry cartoon when Jerry called Mammie two shoes and told her Tom was having a party at her house with his friends. She ran all the way home in small heels. @@ArtIsDrawing +OP Dude, that's victim blaming. Anyone can be targeted by a sh***y/controlling/abusive person. This mentality of "It'd never happen to ME, because I'd never put up with it, so I'll look down on people who have been treated badly" seriously contributes to protecting and enabling abusive people, by participating in the abuse towards their victims. Because if someone stands up for themselves, guess what? They'll get people putting them down for having experienced the abuse/bad behavior in the first place. They get stuck between staying in a bad situation or leaving the situation and being ridiculed for having been in it. The stigma against victims that if someone is treated badly, they must have 'deserved it' or 'let it happen' therefore being treated badly is 'their own fault', they must be 'desperate' or 'weak' or some other attributed character flaw to belittle them with --- which is bs. No one deserves to be treated badly or abused. The abuse/bad behavior is the fault and responsibility of the person DOING that sh*t, not the person who was wronged. I fully agree that the woman should call off that engagement, but quit with the jeering towards the woman standing up to the pos. There was nothing wrong with the person having a snack before the meal. Eating when hungry is part of their eating disorder recovery. Breaking up was the right thing/decision. OP was right when they said that compromises don't apply to their health. 3rd Story: The guy is acting like a kid. If OP hasn't divorced her husband already, she should do so asap. OP wasn't in the wrong. Her husband was putting his & his friends' needs/wants over the needs/wants of his kids.

The guy who didn't like the OPs cat. Not only did he try to institute rules on these women in their own home, and make unreasonable demands on where the cat was allowed, then put it outside to hopefully get lost, THEN worst of all, when OP called him out in front of his family (which was necessary, because they will hold him accountable and not let him bully OP) HE CALLED HER A LIAR!! What an incredible low life. Show him the door, OP. This guy is bad news, manipulative and will make your life miserable if you marry him. That's what narcissists do.

How are you doing my friend? How are you feeling? Can you please start showing some more of the things that you do with Coco throughout the day? I just love seeing the both of you!! I am a very huge dog person, and I just love them so much. In the first story Eric was just a huge prick because he knew Zoey loved her cat with her all, and for him to just be so disrespectful is just so truly disgusting. Zoey's cat was there before he even got with her mom. In the second story the boyfriend is just a complete piece of sh*t because he knew that his girlfriend was dealing with an e.d, but yet he had the audacity to say that she embarrassed him because she ate a granola bar. He doesn't even deserve her. I love you!! Stay safe!!

Story 1 - I would have told him to get out and not come back as soon as he started issuing demands. my cat and where s/he goes in the house would be a non-negotiable rule that ANY partners, potential or otherwise, would be allowed to have absolutely ZERO say in. I hope she NEVER lets him back into her life and I'm really glad his family blew up at him. He thoroughly deserved it - and we need some Coco tax! :) Story 2 - This whole family is trash. Because the BF didn't tell his family beforehand is shameful on him and he has no understanding. OP was doing what was best for HER body and HER health. He does not know the meaning of the word "compromise" and she's better off without a millstone like him around her neck. Story 3 - That "man" is nothing but a man-child. I hope OP dumps his arse because he doesn't care about his kids and isn't willing to contribute to the house or finances. I believe that the 16 months of joblessness is nothing but an excuse and he just wants to revert back to childhood. What a vile specimen he is! I really feel for his wife and (actual) children.

I definitely have a love hate relationship with pets like they're cute and adorable but a pain to take care of and I'm not sure if i could ever get a pet and take care of it ive found I'm more a cat person though over dogs. I love dogs but they're so hyper and require so much attention and want to play and I just don't have that energy and id feel bad getting a dog and not playing with it whereas most cats are independent and don't require much attention and idk i just like them better and find them nice to cuddle with and play with them using the lazer pointer and what not and hearing them purr when getting petted or having their belly rubbed

Relatable to the pet cat. That is so red flag. Except that it was an immediate family member; since he pays for the rent. He demands we "get rid" of them because of the smell. One day, he'd be nice to them and the next day he'd be raging at us telling us to get rid of them and he even made a threat whether it's him or the cats. I can't wait to get out of the house and take all of them with me.

if I had a bf, and he starts complaining about my cats, I'd break up with him, because he can find a woman who doesn't have cats. My cats are what comforts me after work, and I will not let some idiot who is too dumb to get a catless gf take that away from me!

in relation to the first story: When I was 8, my dad was looking for a relationship. (him and my mom had divorced 4 years before.) When he introduced me to his girlfriend, 12 years younger than him, she was very nice to me. But, when she lived with us full time, she started complaining about my dads cat and my cat. She was allergic to them, so before that point we understood and kept them inside a bathroom. All day, all night. I was already upset about that because I loved to cuddle with my kitties. Then she explained to my dad how it was uncomfortable and she didn’t like them. We of course weren’t going to get rid of them, but my she said we should put them outside. Ok, they have never ever been outside, they are indoor kitties., as an 8 year old i didn’t understand and i got very upset. I knew my cats my whole life before her and they got me through a lot. I was an only child, they were my support in scary times. They were outside for about a year until my dads cat passed away. It made me very mad, at that time I had barely turned 10. I blamed it on the fact she had to change environments and we couldn’t bathe them or groom properly. My dad said “atleast she got her last bit of life in nature.” I still think about it. It still hurts me and I feel guilty for my cats. But should I have been more understandable towards my dads girlfriend (at the time, now wife.)? She said I was a brat, I wonder if it was true.
@Justyouraveragechaosenjoyer2 жыл бұрын
Talking and compromising are really important in any relationship. I can't make a good judgment since idk her overall tones throughout the ordeal. However, if you've had a cat that has lived inside its entire life, I personally think it should stay inside. But that's just coming from personal experience ^^;;

Okay, first story, this woman hould be glad he's not texting or contacting her, she should cut her losses and pack her bags; if she thought he was being controlling about the cat, just think what he'd be like after they got married! If your partner is being controlling, get them out of your life and skip town, surround yourself with people who care about you because I doubt he'd just give up after one try.
@JeannetteMTroy2 жыл бұрын
Make sure you put all your accounts in your name and take his name off of everything. If doesn’t come back soon get everything in your name. If he does come back and still is acting like he owns every thing tell him to leave. Let him learn that he has been acting controlling and that is not what you want in your life. Good luck.

if I was the wife with the pool... OOF. I'd have that pool removed completely, even if I had to pour out all my life savings for the cement and the builder who removes the pool, and replace it with a nice piece of lawn, and then I'd be going with my kids to the public swimming pool every damn day. He can't have the swimming pool if he's not letting the kids use it!

Ok, I have an “Am I Wrong?” Story: I had a boy in my class who recently moved out of state and is struggling to make friends. He had my number and we had talked for a little and became somewhat close before he moved, so we continued to talk after he moved. When my friend found out, she freaked out and claimed that he was a bad person. He had apparently called some of my friends names and got mad at one of them because she started dating his best friend. His best friend had stopped talking to him after he started dating my friend, and he was upset about it because he was his only friend. Not many people liked him because he has ADHD and got fidgety in class and people found it annoying. Anyway, after he moved, I stayed his friend and he would sometimes tell me about his family problems. I didn’t want him to feel forgotten after he left but my friends could not let it go. This disliked him for the things he said about them after they had “stolen” his best friend. Am I in the wrong for staying his friend?

about the cat. my uncle moved from the uk to south africa to visit us for 4weeks(i live with my gran, so thats her son. she is widowed and i never knew my dad and was abandoned by my mother once she could no longer abuse and sexually exploit me. being said i was only in my early teens when this happened) my uncle stayed for 2years. I hated drinking the last bit ok coke in bottles because gasless coke is yucky and also i hardly drank coke anyway because i saw him drink coke and milk out the bottle and carton making me uncomfortable and disgusted. basically he tried to force me out the house when i was 15. he kept new bottles of coke in his bedroom and locked the door. he went into my room when i was at school and snooped through my stuff. i had a new kitten my gran got me as a therapy pet and i kept it in my room which is big tbh, but i mostly kept him in my room because he could have gotten lost and my gran has allergies to him. one day i got home and my bedroom door was open. the slidingdoor outside was wide open, all the windows were open... because he wanted my indoor cat to go out. uhuh. i got into a fight with him where we both got into a chokehold and my gran didnt even tell him not to hurt me, i remember so clearly how she told me to get my hands off him and stop choking her son. he apologised almost 10years later and my gran said i must just accept it. fuck her and fuck him. ill pretend to for the sake of peace but i have to live with the memories and the trauma and i refuse to give them forgiveness everytime the memory hurts me. btw my cat was hiding under my bed and only came out when i got home. he is allowed outside now ofc because he is an adult and he knows where he lives and he has had all his shots but...yeah and since then my cat is no longer cool with being handled by anyone but me. my uncle left after 2years and much mental and emotional trauma later. every time i bring that 2years up i am shamed and accused of being shallow because i cant forgive something that doesn't deserve forgiveness. bear in mind my uncle also looks exactly like his father who abused me when i was a young child. i lived in terror those 2years to the point where i brought containers into my room in case i need to pee or poop because if he was home i was scared to leave my room. i also knew my gran wouldnt protect me from him and whats worse is that all my teenage friends at the time were completely fake and while i knew their moms would have helped me or listened to me, i was too ashamed back then to say anything and once i even showed up at my abusive mothers place where she lived with 6alcoholic druggies and slept there a few nights just hoping id be raped and killed because it would be better than living anymore in the "safe envirement" i supposedly had with my gran. it took me years to finally be able to tell my gran my trauma. she is 73 now and im 27. tried to kill myself so many times, hoped to die so many times and still do. she also broke my heart back then but now she is all i have and the only person in the world who knows me. imagining life without her kills me especially since she wouldnt let me die back then. what right did she have? i have to live with this. and then she'll book a ticket to the afterlife and whatabout me?? oh, THEN its okay for me to die right? i hate the world. i want to see the world burn.
