If the defendant didn't want to hang out with the plaintiff anymore, she shouldn't have accepted the money. She was using him, and it was apparent by the text JM brought up in court. And calling him a loner that sits in his car to embarrass him - she just showed what type of person she is.

As a 58 year old woman who in my younger days used a poor guy because I knew he was lonely and had a crush on me, I can spot a female like this from a mile off. I’m definitely NOT proud of how I treated this guy from my past. I changed. And guilt eat me up to the point of reaching out to this man and not only apologizing profusely, but paying him back with interest. Some women (like Ms. Prim & Proper) here, never change. She saw a man who is so obviously lonely and was attracted to her, and did just what women like this do. And she has likely been doing this since she was a young girl. I hope he finds a nice lady who sees his heart for what it is, and offers him the love he deserves. I hope she grows a conscience and never does this kind of thing again. Because she knew exactly what she was doing. Sad.

@7:11 (paraphrasing below): JM: are you saying that he wanted to buy your love so much that he just gave you $5000 for your divorce? Defendant: I think he was trying to buy something else, more than just attention. But I'm not that way and had no interest in a sexual relationship with him. OK, so basically the defendant is going through the trial with this smug little smirk on her face, and making this type of declaration as if she has some type of moral high ground. But, instead what she is saying is 'yes, Judge I knew this guy wanted more from me than I was ever willing to give so I played him, used him, and took advantage of him for $5000.' Yeah, lady that manipulative behaviour gives you (lady) only low moral ground, if you have any ground at all. And really, after talking about how she broke shutdown by having people come over to party in her basement she was already in the basement (pun intended) with her moral grounds to begin with. The plaintiff is better off without this toxic person in his life.
