Booting out a Brother

The plaintiff brings his sister to court. He claims his sister took all of his belongings out of their apartment and loaded it into a truck, which ruined everything. He’s suing for eviction costs, pain and suffering, and damages. The defendant argues the plaintiff was impossible to live with and made her pets sick because of the mess he made. She admits to moving his stuff into storage. She’s countersuing for moving costs.

She should have told her 21-year old, at the age of 18, that he either gets a job, or he gets out. The only exception is if he's going to college, but even then, he can do a part-time job. Between the three of them, they should be able to easily get a three-bedroom apartment, at least. Likewise, the brother should have had a job within 3 months or he can go too. In fact, I don't even understand why she let him move in with her. According to her, it was no major, bad event, her brother just wanted a change.

I can’t understand grown ppl. During covid my entire immediate family lived in the same house for 3 years and we all existed in harmony. There were some bumps but never to the point where we don’t talk/police being called on each other. My family actually thought of it as a blessing we got to live as a family again. My middle brother and wife 2 kids suffered a house fire during covid and my oldest brother was going through a divorce and moving back to our home state from where him and ex wife resided. So we had 11 ppl 6 adults and 5 kids in a house and lived in harmony until my brothers were able to move back out! We take the best friend LS from cradle to the grave seriously.

Siblings can live together as adults. My brother, his friend, and I did in our 20s. We got along fine (everyone has the occasional disagreement, but there were no life changing fights). However, we were three people in a three bedroom house, not 5 people, 6 dogs, and some cats in a one bedroom apartment. I don't want to imagine the smell in that place, and feel bad for the kids. Of course anxiety and depression were a problem.

The government only helps those that don't help themselves. I was a single mother of two children and always maintained a full time job to support myself and my children. Government assistance hasn't helped working families in a long time. I lived in a one bedroom with my two kids for years because that's all I could afford. People should have a limit as to how long they are depending 100% on government funding, that's why our economy is a huge mess.
