Let’s be real, the foster father is a bit of a weirdo, what grown man gives a child candy then asks the mom if she can have sleepovers? Why is he trying to keep her tethered to him by buying her a phone and paying the bill but only if she calls him every day, and when she doesn’t he takes the phone and the laptop he gave her as a gift while throwing all her belongings out of the house? It’s not a four year olds fault that she doesn’t have a good and loving father in her life and a mother who hands her off into another man’s house. It’s not her fault that she then spends years going back and forth between two households with possibly different partners. He’s not related, and he didn’t answer when asked when he became a foster parent. He was angry with her for behaving badly, and took back his gifts when she was leaving. However, I don’t think she should have sued him and she did have a snarky attitude. Being a foster parent is hard, especially with teenagers. My neighbor is a foster parent, I would watch her foster kids, most of those kids are a mess. Most also as soon as they turn 18, or leave the foster home, run back to the bio parents, or turn into even bigger messes. You can't really discipline these kids. Even raising your voice at them, can get you investigated by the state. I give major props to the good foster parents that take in other people's children that are messed up for many reasons and treat them as their own.

I adopted my son from the foster care system when he was 12. There were years of fear, anger, rejection and heartache. He is now 25, and, fortunately, he still lives with me. He's a great person and easy to live with...now. I'm so glad he stayed with us and he has grown up and out of those really tough phases. He's also forgiven me for the times when I didn't handle his bad emotions very well. He has such a huge heart❤! Kids who come from hard places, and who have lived through abuse and neglect for most of their lives, come in with LOTS of emotional baggage. It's HARD to be their caregiver, but it's not their fault. They are 100% the victims of the terrible adults who came before you. They can't trust anyone for years! Remember these words if ever want to foster or adopt an older child. It's not like "The Blindside" movie. It's not for the faint of heart. The kids DESERVE a permanent home, but if you're unprepared, your adoption will likely disrupt, and the child will have one more huge rejection in their life. We saw this happen in our adoption support group. Most of the adoptions disrupted. Maybe 3 out of 10 stayed together. I'm sorry to be a downer but people need the know the truth to be able to stick it out and give your adopted child a permanent home.

Girl, that ain’t your stuff. Why be rebellious and defiant to those nice ppl? Just do what you’re told, or get a job and get your own things.

This is one of the cases were I wish we got a follow up on. I truly wonder where that young lady is in life now after burning a bridge like that.

The defendant thinks because she hit the "magic number 18" she's grown. It's sad because 18 (even 21) is too young to consider these young people adults. They don't have the life experiences, intelligence, or biology/maturity to make decisions out of logic as opposed to emotion. I'm sure the defendants weren't perfect but no parent is. Her mother obviously had troubles of her own if all her children were raised by kind neighbors. I have teenagers and this has been the most difficult experience during parenting. Judge Milan said it perfectly...they're stupid. Stupid because they think they know better and think their birthday coming around for the 18th time changes anything. Any parent knows most people under 25 are just grown children, not responsible adults.

I feel him at the end. I wouldn’t help her again. Bless him! Karma will take care of her.

Lol he said NO so quick and JM didn't even complain about how she didn't get to finish her question 😂 I totally understand the defendants. Hopefully the plaintiff wakes up and wise's up soon and humbles herself.

He has done all he could do for her. This is old since they were talking about iPhone 6’s. So I hope she has learned and understood how blessed she have this man in her life .

I have a really huge place in my heart for men who raise kids that they did not help create! My stepdad is literally one of my biggest blessings and has seen me through so much. I had a time in college where I was depressed and wildin out and the love and patience he showed me was so humbling. There are some horrible people in this world, and once you experience some, you start to appreciate the people who show you love and grace! Him being such a great father to me made me want to be an even better daughter to him. I pray she learns that lesson before it’s too late 🤍

The defendant both looks AND sounds like actor/comedian Kevin Hart! 😂
