Only one problem with the washer in all this time--about a year ago, and it was just a little plastic part (called an agitator dog---lol!) that cost $5.00 and I did it myself. The dryer won't turn itself off anymore, so you can't turn it on and leave the house or go to sleep. But they're still going strong, after three decades of kids, grandkids, lots & lots of use. Edit: On the other hand, we bought our Whirlpool refrigerator *used* in 2014. It was manufactured in 1999. Still going strong :) I think older appliances were built to last, but the ones manufactured in the 2000's are just not. It's planned obsolescence.

I grew up with Kenmore, and never had problems with them - my appliances all lasted for decades (finally did away with my upright freezer after 25 years, and that was only because I was downsizing). My ex swore by Maytag, and pushed for me to get them when I bought my house 10 years ago. The fridge lasted two years tops, and never worked correctly, even after multiple repairs. The oven is a joke, and doesn't hit the correct temp ever. The washer and dryer have both needed drum and e-board replacement more than once. Truth of the matter, though, is most things aren't made to last anymore...

Earlier last year, I had an issue with my washer/dryer combo. I told the company the second fan wasn't working properly and they immediately sent someone out...who didn't know anything about combos. He said there wasn't a 2nd fan and instead replaced the motherboard and heating element. It eventually burned up so I decided instead of getting the same combo, I would upgrade to a slightly larger model, same brand. Wouldn't spin. Several different repairmen later, the company decided to send me a new one. They told me to just get rid of the one I just got. The 2nd one did the exact same thing. I told the company have the people at the warehouse check it before delivery but in order to duplicate the problem, it MUST have laundry in it. Finally got a semi-working machine but it had been damaged, bent up, not working, and leaking. This was machine #3. I told them to just send me the 2019 model just like I had previously since obviously there was some sort of software/mechanical issues in the new ones. Mine is now working like a trooper, churning away, just happy as a clam. I fully expected this machine to be the same brand...but it wasn't. BTW, through the whole ordeal, customer service was great. I didn't want to switch brands because this machine has two fans, not just one and can be both vented or unvented.

I think the plaintiff should have got a refund for the washer as well cause you can't always wash if you have no where to dry the clothes. She probably didn't even use the washer much and had to wash at a relatives house till she got a dryer which she didn't.

THE PLAINTIFF IS ADORABLE SHE WAS ON IT I PERSONALLY WOULD'VE DONE THE SAME / HELL WENT BK TO THE STORE SINCE THEY NEVER LIKE SNSWERING AFTER GETTING YOUR $$$$. THE DEFENDANT NEVER SWAPT THE DRYER BECAUSE SHE WOULD'VE HAD THE SIGNATURE OF NEW DELIVERY. SO I BELIEVE THE PLAINTIFF GOOD JOB
