I bought a car for $500 and it was my daily driver for four years until its untimely demise a few months ago where it was totaled. Sometimes there are some dependable cars that are cheaper so don't judge a book by its cover here

In Maine, he would have to be licensed as a used car dealer and fully warranty the car for thirty days. I once took a used car back after just a few days and got all new brakes, rotors, and tires. That's the way it should be in every state.

In 1992 I picked up my brand new 1992 Grand Am after the service dept closed etc.....I didnt have the car for 45 minutes and a fuse blew...so i brought it back and told the sales person what fuse it was etc....The sales person wasnt my original sales person and I asked him if they had any fuses....He asked me this you are a woman how do you know its a fuse...I said I have the burnt fuse in my hand after I looked in the manual....Then I proceeded to let him know who i was that i was a mechanics daughter and im NOT your average stupid young woman....Well I called my original sales person and told him what his co worker said to me....He wasnt impressed either...He had me come back in for a box of fuses and some other freebies for my car including a free oil and filter change per the owners request.....A few months go by and my car is litterally quacking when you put it in gear.....So my step father and uncles put it on my step fathers lift....they wanted to see what i was talking about and they never saw the under carriage of a 1992 Grand Am just the other years like in the 70's...My step father was a volvo mechanic for over 20 yrs...I brought it back to the dealership told them it was the engine mounts again I was told from the service dept that i was a young woman and didnt know anything well my sales person saw me pull in and came to check on me...He asked wtf is wrong T...I said im being told again because i am a young woman i know nothing about cars....Well S blew his fuse and said do you not understand who T is....Her step father owns a Volvo Repair shop and has for years....T has worked on all kinds of cars and is a crew chief for 2 local race cars....She knows her stuff and if she doesnt know the answer she asks and she reads the dam manual....Sure as poop the mechanic brought it in put it on the lift and it was the motor mounts....And again I got lots of freebies....lol

He was operating as a business which was going to the auction buying the car and charging a fee. The auctions policy was as is sale under 3k. His business which he was purchasing under gave a warranty on engine and transmission otherwise he could go buy lemon cars pocket his fee and tough luck on the buyer. She actually did right by having her mechanic go only downside was he couldn't go inside the auction or inspect the car until it was already purchased
