If she had indicated left before reversing in order to rectify her kerb side parking, would the black car still over took her parking spot?

I think it’s about the “time” more than the indicator, if she would initiate earlier then the other car would wait for her, but as it looks like the other car driver is local she wanted to park there anyway!

honestly I feel like this driving was far from perfect, there were 4 missed over the shoulder headchecks for merging lanes which would constitute a fail according to the book.

Is it essential to wait for 5 seconds behind the stop sign..?

You need to stop completely and entirely behind the line, the all four wheels should come to a complete stop with a gentle bounce, i personally prefer to stop for 3 secs just to give the feeling of stopping completely to the examiner, 5 sec is not required.
