Unless the clutch is energized, turning the pulley is not turning the compressor. The nut on the compressor shaft needs to be turned to rotate the compressor by hand.

Great video to show the details of easy install. One issue, Might have been best to install a thermo-fan clutch set up or an electric fan alternative providing the alternator has enough output. Fixed fans are mostly good for city driving but once on the highway, they are not needed for the most part and they are noisy when up to speed.

I have put a flex fan on my '57 fairlane, more fins more air movement flattens out a bit when higher speed rpm's.

Wes G We looked into this before but the problem is filming it in a way you can see what I am doing since a lot of the install is under the dash. We have done overviews of these systems but I am not sure we will ever do a full install.

I installed my classic auto air on my 1975 Pontiac Catalina. It replaced the VIR system. Everything was done correctly. It has a Pressure switch on the Accumulator with two white wire's. The A-6 Compressor has the original harness that plugs into the Compressor one black that mounts to AC bracket A green. My question is how do I hook up the Two wire's from the pressure switch. Cause the original harness that plugs into the compressor both wire's are ground on the test light. So I made a connection to the hot wire on the electric choke on my carburetor. Now with the switch in off it blows just a little and the accumulator is a little cold. I know my problem is in the Pressure switch not connected correctly. Any help please. Thank you

I would not have been able to install my kit in my 67 without youtube. The instruction booklets left out a few key steps. Like removing the old heater and calibrating the new unit.

100%. Currently installing the Classic Auto Air into my '68 Mustang. The manual definitely could use a revamping with more details. This video, even though it too misses some details, between the two and being able to see the process in the video sure does help. The video also showed me that I could "probably" do this on my own :)

The upper mount you installed for the compressor, looked like you didn't have the spacers in correctly. It appears bent and the lock washer for the bolt was distorted very badly. Not to mention it looks like the kit uses cheap hardware store bolts. For the money you'd think they'd include decent hardware.

Aftermarket parts "don't fit" as most OG techs would say, you always gotta do a little adj. here and there, elongating of holes etc. lol..

Restoring my 66 coupe, I have learned that very little is exact on classic cars. Even factory specs. One of the most important things I learned working on classic cars, is everything is "ish!" Its 9/16 "ish", its 7 and 3/8 "ish!" Even the 64 mustang is 64 1/2 ISH! Theres two models of 65! One built before a certain month, one built after! LOL

Spinning the pulley like the guy does in the video doesn't turn the compressor. If you spin the pulley without the clutch engaged you aren't doing what the directions call for and will damage the compressor.

I just got their AC-only (daily driver) kit for the 200 6-cyl. Good instructions, nice brackets, quality kit. Same as in this video though, the belts may not be a perfect fit; one was rather tight. Note that per the instructions, charging the system is done Not Running, after spinning the compressor by hand 15rev With Clutch Engaged (voltage applied). Then spin by hand 15rev again before running the engine & AC.

Seems like he forgot to mount the Emergency Flasher Switch back up in the Glove Box. Everything else he did was very correct and professional. If he did mount it back it isn't shown as so.

We don't always show the small details that are really not relevant to the install to keep the length of the video down. We figure if you managed to install the entire AC system the flasher switch shouldn't be a problem.

Works great but Perfect Fit isnt just a stretch its an outright lie. Nothing fit they way it was supposed to. I had to make custom brackets and spacers to get mine in my 67.
