It would be great to break this into a series. 1. When to slice and what options ( give us the game theory). 2. How to slice (maybe one slice from rally etc) 3. Game play examples - clips from games or you playing with a slow motion edit at key points that illustrate 1 and 2. You easily posses the most game knowledge of the top 10% KZbin coaches. But don’t assume we, your audience have nearly the required level of tennis experience (especially in a 101 video) to aboard all this content in one go. Break it up for us. We’ll watch them all!

Will, I have a request for you making a specific type of video using the same concept after I first say that this video and many of the other ones you've made are exactly what those of us who have reached a plateau need and don't fully understand. I have watched many videos across many different websites and the majority of them do not cover and include such excellent and useful content. Congratulations on a job well done!! Going back to the beginning, I would like to request that you make a specific video on 1. how to hit short angles from the middle of the baseline on both forehand and backhands including 2. how to make the ball go up and down quickly (what you sometimes have called doing the "rolls") from all 5 positions in the court: super close to the net, mid court, center of the court, far behind the baseline, and at or passed the doubles allies along the baseline. Again, Thank You in advance for your help!

what about a video on returning a really good, deep knifing slice? in my experience it’s a very underrated shot that helps to construct points really well and learning how to keep that from happening on the receiving end would help (i tend to hit a defensive ball when this type of slice goes to my forehand)….

A lot to digest and think about. But it makes sense w/ how I deal w/ defense, vs approach vs. a rally ball.

Damnit! Another area that I’ve coasted on “feel” that I now need to get a bit more intentional with. It’s one of my least error prone shots and I get a lot of the outcomes you talk about, but I think getting clear on what’s the shot I want and what’s the swing path and angle will get me further. Kinda like getting a way from just getting it in the service box vs knowing which t, body or wide target with why kinda spin/no spin to hit. Thanks!

One of the best underspin vids I’ve seen. Now if you can just convince beginners that it’s a valuable skill and not some kind of second class weak shot that is only used by Pushers.

Are you modifying the racket angle using wrist flexion or via grip change as well? I imagine that it is the former, and all of these are continental but I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Which one would you say should be the most commonly hit type? IE the slice equivalent of the neutral topspin ball?
@ironwilltennis3 ай бұрын
@CrabNoodleSoupp low rally would be the most important to gain comfort with because it fits alot a situations in my opinion
@colinbyer30183 ай бұрын
In your opinion is it a problem to only really hit the heavy slice? I just wait until the ball is super low or short, and hit really disgusting skidding slice and other wise just topspin everything. I use a weak continental grip which is toward forward which allows lots of backspin and nasty slice

Totally wrong information. High take back is for the high heavy step in slices and low take back is obviously for low balls.
