Miles is the master of delivering the sweetest, most reassuring, "if it doesn't work out, that's okay"! It's so healing to hear what a measured response to disappointment sounds like, it's not the end of the world!

For the annoyed girlfriend, I would add a goal of honing her ability to identify when a relationship isn’t working and leaving that relationship sooner and more gracefully. Try to leave as your best self, not as your angry or resentful self because you stayed too long. Resentment is often an indicator of a boundary that wasn’t held. Staying too long isn’t a favor for her or him.

As someone who is chronically ill and disabled, I really felt Zach’s fear of losing quality of life more than death. Even just through flares, it can be wild to see how bad my quality of life can dip, and that suffering has always scared me more than death.

Usually I get kind of annoyed when KZbin automatically moves to the next video in queue, and it's a video I've seen before (out of billions of video possibilities), but not with Perfect Person. I'll end up listening to close to half or most of an episode before I get around to switching it to something else instead of pretty much doing it right away.

To Emery: if you see this, I hope you asked him out! When I was 22, I was in a show and super down on myself. I had just stopped seeing someone who didn’t want to call me his gf. I was friends with the sound guy at the theater the show was at and we flirted a lot. I stated to like him and I had a suspicion he liked me, so I told him I wanted to go out. We’re celebrating our 5 year anniversary next month 😊 GOOD LUCK QUEEN!

Miles and Zach, you guys are literally my goal in masculinity as a trans persom Open, honest, raw, funny, strong, squishy, awe inspiring. Love you guys
@herb_rolls
@herb_rolls Жыл бұрын
Are those traits attached to masculinity? Or does he have those personality traits regardless of his gender? Don't aim for masculinity when it truly means nothing but gender norms/prescribed personalities, you're a perfect trans person as you are! Don't let cis people give you costumes you feel you have to wear. Cis men are not cooler than any gender, they simply are more privileged and have been allowed more individuality. You got this!!

@@herb_rolls maybe spend more time in therapy figuring out your apparent ego issues rather than giving unsolicited advice to people in KZbin comments, I didn't ask for advice on how to be trans, especially from some random stranger on the internet. Lmao go touch some grass, I have many OTHER inspirations of masculinity. OBVIOUSLY these traits and masculinity are not mutually exclusive, I'm not a child. I have a wider understanding of gender than that, I'm perfectly fine. I don't need your preachings or teachings, rando
@cottagegremmy

@@herb_rolls Dawg shut up. You obviously have no clue what it's like to be handed societys view of men and be told you don't fit it; we see people like Zach and Miles change societys view and now that's a view we can be. This isn't about fitting a 'gender norm', it's about feeling confident in how we present our masculinity and how we feel that the two of them are helping our confidence with their presentation of masculinity. If you're trans: Stop. If you're cis: You aren't a good ally. Whether you're one or the other, you're still trying to talk over this trans person, let them voice how they feel. Stop trying to be a hero.

To the question of fear of death - I've recently been exploring the idea that we don't live in this world as individuals. We are actually, all together, one big organism. Nothing starts or ends with one individual life. We contribute our wisdom, our spirit, our talent to the world, but the organism doesn't start or end with us. This has helped me remove the fear of death a bit. I'm not so worried about achieving some very particular thing for myself in life. Now I moreso see it as I need to spend every day contributing my spirit to that organism and doing my best, but having the faith that life goes on and on even after I go. Life is a force that repeats the same struggles and joys generation to generation, country to country, from one house to another. I believe that our ancestors' stories live in our blood, whether we know of them or not, and our stories will also live on in that silent and powerful way.

Here's the thing, that girl's boyfriend sucks. Like it's not about her just not liking him -- he was super lazy and inconsiderate and didn't offer to help her move, he didn't take care of his lease and expected her to just take care of him. Like I don't think she's just an angry person, he sounds like THE WORST.

I've been on a Perfect Person binge today while running some draining errands. Your advice is thoughtful and hilarious. I do have to say -- telling a woman who is frustrated that her boyfriend is in her space, when he SURPRISED MOVED IN FOR MONTHS WITHOUT HER ON BOARD felt like you were focusing on symptoms and not the root of the problem. I agreed with your advice, but can't say that he didn't do anything wrong. Forcibly moving in, even if it wasn't done with malicious intent, is pretty disrespectful of people's space and boundaries.
