Mike backing out of buying the letters from home was such a great Survivor move. It's a shame the other players were allowed to refund their letter and foil his plan.

I can't believe you didn't include Angelina's amazing fake idol in this series yet. That has to be a top tier strategic plan. Alison made an absolute fool of herself, such as Angelina geniusly predicted, and it was a massive resume move. It's a shame that the jury didn't appreciate many of Angelina's spectacular plays (such as the jacket escapade or ricegate) and instead gave their votes to Emoji Movie and a vampire.

You forgot about when she climbed a 100 foot ladder to find an idol
@XanderMatthews-nv9zf11 ай бұрын
You left out her selflessly giving up her shot at immunity to get her tribe rice which she humbly never brought up again
Think one of the best parts of Mike's moves was how clearly it separated him from the Axis of Evil as well. He had some connections to them at that point but going forward he was able to easily distinguish himself from them as the good guy when they got increasingly toxic and volatile. Might not have worked short term but it definitely paid off long term

Kristie went from a "goat" to a GOAT, that was one of the best seasons of survivor of all time.

It was almost certainly accidental but Missy using up all of Hunahpu's rice allowed them to win every immunity challenge (except for the one they threw) and gain a massive numbers advantage. All they had to do at the end was give up all their earned rewards, but that still didn't negate the numbers advantage and a good chunk of the tribe wasn't even on Hunahpu anymore thanks to the swap.

Recently in Australian Survivor we saw the refinement of the first part of Nick’s strategy. Feras and Raymond executed their own fake idol find perfectly and instead of the target shifting to Raymond it shifted off of him because it was the final five and the last time an idol could be used. Brilliant stuff.

Everytime i watch a Survivor Strategy related video and see Cirie, i get reminded, that she was and always will be the original robbed Queen. Never has a player gone from being afraid of leaves to an absolute social and strategic powerhouse (in multiple seasons no less) only to get robbed one way or another (be it Final 2 twist, Advantage-geddon, so on). I'm so glad she could finally flex those strategic and social muscles to finally win not just one but two Social-strategic game shows after Survivor.

I feel like Gabler also fits in the strategy of assuming the goat role, and debatable executed it better and more actively than Kirstie or Tom. We consistently hear him talk about how he’s “hiding in plain sight”, and there was a massive dichotomy in how the players viewed him on the island compared to how they viewed him when they were on the jury.

For Aussie survivor I thought you were going to bring up the olympic champion herself. She seem like a goat in most seasons, the elderly lady that is likeable enough but not that strategic and seemingly just floated by. I know she did do alot under the surface but I can totally imagine her playing the strategy of "take me to final 2, I didnt do anything, nobody will vote for me"

Here's a strategy I'm surprised we dont see more often (technically AK from Aussie survivor attempted it). If you have a real idol, make an absurd looking fake idol and try to trick others. Nobody will believe the fake idol is real, and they will immediately deduce that you don't have a real idol.

Its too bad the social game is such an important element in the auction with the letters. Mike essentially had no choice. And the cast was a bunch of jerks to him about it and it killed the auction for like 7 years. He was already in danger and it sucks for him.

Well… Season 45 revived the survivor auction back, but it’s a lot different now. No more advantages, and they have to find the “auction money” instead of being given a predetermined amount for bidding. The amount of items on sale can now be anywhere between 6 to 15 inclusive. However only Jeff knows the amount.
@ColtonDick-e8w8 ай бұрын
One move I REALLY wish was made was on season 45 with Emily and her vote out. She showed so much game knowledge by being able to take out Bruce the round before and could’ve done the same thing with Julie. Julie was on the hot seat and Dee told her she was the next to go. Only the Reba 4 knew of Julie’s idol so the rest of this doesn’t matter but….. If Emily had even the slightest reserves Julie had an idol she could’ve casted her vote on Dee. This would’ve forced a split between Emily and Dee but saving Emily from immediate removal from the game. Julie’s lone vote which was the only vote to not be nullified that tribal was cast on Emily this resulting in her leaving. I’m sure this has happened plenty in Survivor but in the new era with all these “dogpile” votes it seems like it could happen in the future

I'd say Natalie, Winner of Survivor Samoa, played a successful goat game. She did not have much agency in the game and did not make many moves (aside from sending Eric home at the merge). She would literally have Russell tell her where to vote, and she would vote with him. She won through her social connections to others as opposed to Russells strategic gameplay.
