Persona 3 Reload Won't Get A Rerelease, But I'm Not Sure About DLC

The DLC list just got leaked. It's some costumes, support items, and the Answer. Nothing that would affect the normal gameplay loop is paywalled

And in terms of the rerelease it means the extra content is on the disc rather than spread across multiple dlcs, I prefer that personally.

I've gotta be honest I don't mind the whole rerelease with extra content years later. Because by that point I haven't played it for years and want a replay. Again I might be in the minority. But I'm eagerly waiting/hoping for a SMT5 Definitive edition.

I really hope one of the DLC drops would be a Rouge-Like side mode that changes Tartarus to be in that style as a selectable side mode, because that's something I've dreamt about wanting for YEARS, and I figured it'd be more than enough justified as paid DLC as long as they change things enough to make it work

Persona 3 reload removed some of the club activities tied to social links, only the athletic team is available, they might add the swimming and kendo club back again in a dlc.

idk it sounds like you answered your own question about "what will the first two be" with your rant about the costumes in Persona 5. at least one of them is almost definitely going to be a costume pack, if not both. they'll probably include one or two small extra gameplay features just so it doesn't totally feel like a middle finger to anybody who doesn't give a shit what their video game characters look like as long as they're fun to play as.

I’m honestly upset they didn’t add additional content such as Valentine’s Day or white day, they also could’ve tied in Elizabeth’s promise from P4u, by using similar logic from persona 2 where reality is altered (it’s a stretch Ik but weirder things have happened in the persona and smt series (take persona 1 for example)) persona 3 reload is honestly an updated version of persona 3 with added content.(which isn’t bad by any means just could’ve done more given they had years to remake this).

I think Atlus could make it work. Modders have proven that with a little work you can in fact play P5 Royal with all changes in emulated P5 vanilla. I would certainly prefer a rerelease for any additional SMT V content though. I think that is the only way it can avoid being Switch exclusive and thus be able to run at a consistent frame rate and have more than 3 environments

I’m pretty sure “complete” in that interview was more referring to how they wanted to remake The Journey, and they remade The Journey. There’s just nothing else to add to that story specifically in a enhanced version. Regardless, we’ve already gotten the first wave of DLC for the game, it was pretty much everything in the deluxe edition, like the P5 and P4 tracks and costumes. My guesstimate is that we’ll get a few more costume and music packs, possibly based on the persona spin-off games not touched here, like the arena and dancing games. Then there’ll just be the answer at the end. I’d probably buy a persona 4 Ultimax costume pack but Y’know.

Reload is pretty much a FES remake, which added Aigis' SL, weapon shop, and others. The fact that they excluded The Answer for DLC reasons when in FES it was also included in the retail price feels so scummy :( I know there's other Reload addition like the pseudo social links and new battle mechanics but lord I'm tired of DLC practices, I wish people would see that $100 for a single game is expensive as hell!! I stg one of the only time game company isn't being greedy with re-release is pre-legal trouble Disco Elysium, they pretty much released Final Cut (includes fully voice acting for the entire game and 4 additional quests) FOR FREE if you already bought DE. Sadly after they stole DE from its creators they brought more marketing/monetization people so We Live In Society I guess

well i'd rather buy dlc than buy a fes reload that would be 70 more dollars, i would also like if they expanded on the game even with the femc and other missing content as dlc, since the base game is just the 3 experience with a bit more, still kinda shitty but better than another 70 dollar game

They are technically doing it having P4 and P5 Personas, outfits and extra music with probably more Personas being available for the next bunch as there wera P4 ones that weren't included plus ones we didnt see from P5s spin-offs if they want to include it with maybe more music and extra side stuff with The Answer being the final one giving us an optional new ending.

100$ in costumes is nothing depending on the amount and quality. they could sell each for 2$ and drop 50 of them. but look at doa with 402$ in dlc. just 2 characters and a metric fuckton of costumes. i am completely down with a game having a couple hundred dollars of DLC in costumes as long as they are fairly priced and look good.

I prefer a release with all previous DLC with physical release. Not buying Reload until sale, maybe. I already have the ps2 version anyway. Skipping reload for now in favor of Yakuza 8, DLC is a waste of money I heard and you out pace enemies even on NG+ higher difficulties. Base game is great.

I do hope The Answer comes because I can accept the plan of making Reload the best parts of FES and Portable for The Journey portion (it's got the FES world but has the Male MC SLinks of P3P and party control). Plus, a big reason why a Persona 3 "FESload" wouldn't work is because unlike the extra content in P4G and P5R, The Answer isn't merely an extra few hours of game, it's a second campaign mode. If DLC was a thing back when FES was released, it would have been DLC. So yeah, I hope The Answer is coming. As far as FeMC goes, as much as I'd love to have her as well, what Atlus had to do to get FeMC in P3P is just... we are never getting a gender option again. Or at least, not without a massive price tag on it.

Once P3R was announced with no FeMC or the Answer, I said nope and haven’t budged since. If the Answer DLC comes out, neat. But since no new version with FeMC is happening anytime soon (if ever), I am content with sticking with P3P on my PS Vita.

Scummy DLC business practices like what you described for Lost Judgement are so annoying, and that being the plan for P3R, that... is a BAD sign. Even worse that this content *already existed prior to this game's development.* That annoys the hell out of me and I have never touched Persona 3 (Or any Persona game), so I imagine that annoyance is even greater for people who *have* played and loved this game. Big part of why I'll never touch Dragon Quest Monsters: Dark Prince, for example. Cutting major gameplay features from the game just to sell back to the people who already paid for it.

Sega's DLC practices need a major kick in the teeth, Soul Hackers 2 and Infinite Wealth cutting stuff from the game to resell as DLC, no bueno! Or at least wait a few months after the DLC is released to get what you want at a major discount. Money talks and smart companies listen, if they see that nobody is buying this DLC as is they'll have two options, change their practices or take the EA/Activision route and quadruple down them.

people need to get over femc, reload has so many improvements and additions to the actual characters and gameplay that people are missing out on bc they're butthurt about femc Nobody cared about femc until it wasn't in reload and 99% of players were gonna play as mc in their first playthrough anyways. Femc is a niche audience. It hasn't come back because it's too much work for something that not many players are gonna engage with anyways. Take into further consideration the amount of voice acting reload has, effectively doubling the budget and time that u have to put into VA for a route no one is gonna play

I am honestly about as close as I can be to certain (I’d say like 90%) that atlus is going to definitely make a revision rerelease. I honestly think that article is marketing BS or publicity shade being tossed out of because of course they won’t be making a more complete version of the game so people should absolutely not wait and pay full price

I personally do not care for a couple reasons. In regards to the answer, general consensus was that most people didnt like it and it ruined the ending of the game. Releasing it as DLC at a later date will give more of a reason to come back and avoid some of that burn out. In regards to femc, development time would have been way longer and im sure there are other projects the team has to move onto. I love persona 3 portable (and visual novels in general) and I think its really cool that femc is exclusive to the unique experience.

I’m not sure why people were expecting a definitive edition of P3 like. Bruh they said they were going to remake the original game from 2006 not FES. Personally, people expected way too much especially thinking FeMC should be a DLC. Despite the fact it would take a lot of time in it would be a whole different game especially with new voice acting and new scenes all that I think people should temper their expectations next time. I doubt Altus while working on P3R since 2019. Had the idea of some imaginary definitive edition lol 😂

i do think those are very high expectations but considering lots of modern games now, example cyberpunk that release dlc that improves the game a lot and adds huge new content even call of duty modern warfare 3 was supposed to be a dlc, but they got greedy and made it into a whole new entry and had it backfire why its the most negative reviewed game in the series

It's not that people were hoping reload was going to be definitive until the game came out, it's that the common desire for years has been "give us a definitive edition of P3." Seeing a ground up remake of P3 not be that is frustrating, even if they made it clear.

I know I'm gonna get a lot of flak for this, but I was around when the original persona 3 released And nobody liked the answer While it was a free addition to the original, no one really played it all that much. When it comes to the female main character, that has a little bit more weight to it. However, I don't think it's that big of a deal. It sucks, sure, but not a big deal.

This might be a hot take, but I really dont even want the answer at all. Even if it was just an hour-long cutscene as an epilouge, still wouldn't want it. The answer honestly isn't that great in terms of story and gameplay to me. Unless they drastically change it, which I don't think theyll do because reloaded is already a faithful remake. I would heavily prefer a femc route as dlc over the answer. Still, I think it's kinda weird to not have femc when she was included in persona q2 and is treated more like an icon compared to p1 and p2 protagonists. Oh well, things can change and i'm honestly not sweating over it. p3r is a great game, and i can choose not to buy dlc if i want.

The FeMc is not canon so that should not be in the game anyway. Yes it should be added as dlc. As for the Answer that would be nice so yea dlc would be nice. However this this is a complete game. This is a definite version. A short time from starting this game I know people would still be complaining about the game. I knew this is the "definitive edition" right away.
