Ah Persona 5 Royal: My favorite video game of all time. Something about this game just hit every chord for me as a gamer. The enriching and relatable story, the social links, the characters, and the Battle system all just come together to make for an experience I can easily put over 100 hours into on each given playthrough. A perfect example of a JRPG/Life sim that just hits all of the right notes for me. I could gush about this game in particular for hours on end.

I'm a diehard Xbox gamer, and I really enjoyed both Yakuza: Like a Dragon and P5R this year. It's true that JRPGs seem to have a lower profile on Xbox, but I've always felt like it's because JRPGs often don't get to Xbox. When we do get them, it's often months or years late: And since the JRPG fans already played those games elsewhere they don't pick up the Xbox version, making it look like Xbox players aren't interested in JRPGs. I'll be interested in seeing how that perception changes as more JRPGs release on Xbox day and date with other platforms. Thanks for another great video - your enthusiasm is infectious

You absolutely should keep it and use it Britta. These things get sent to people with an audience and that means they've put in the work to build a following - it's well deserved. I'm a Playstation and Switch player, but to answer your question I've not played it but I'd like to. I love the style and subject matter (and Morgana) but I'm intimidated by the length (I say that as someone who's 120 hours into Dragon Quest 11). The idea that you've played it more than once blows my mind somewhat 😄. I assume the Morgana bus is a Totoro reference?

I'm definitely hanging on to the controller. Yes, Morgana himself says in the game ”‘Cats turning into buses’ is an extremely widespread cognition among the general public.” (referring to Totoro's Catbus) The direct reference is a bit of a small spoiler, so I won't mention it - but you can probably work it out if you think about Morgana being a black cat, and there's a black bus with .. cat ears .. 😎 The manga I showed references "Mementos" which also tie in with the whole bus thing. If you managed 120 hours in DQ 11 so far, you'll do just fine with P5R. 😀 Believe me, you won't notice the hours slip by.

I feel so happy about it, I've always been an xbox user, and being left out on most releases was kind of rough, so last month I started P5R on my xbox and I have to say, it has been a blast, I'm around the end of January with 135 hours played, I'm really happy that I gave the game a try.

@@Food4Dogs Yes, it was really helpful!! I still haven't decided if begin with Ryza or the Arland trilogy. A lot of people say Ryza is a nice place to start, but for me it would be harder to get to older titles after that (that happend when trying to play older titles from the Tales saga and Final Fantasy), plus I don't mind the time management, so I think I'll start with Rorona even if it's a bigger challenge.

@@jorgerivera5003 OK! 😃 Being comfortable with time management is the key to these older titles. I actually learned to love and appreciate time management through the Atelier games! Also: please don't hesitate to consult a guide while playing. I always have some reference guides to hand, especially for items and synthesis options etc. And if you're keen on getting certain endings, then a guide to "Endings" is pretty much mandatory for the Arland series.

Great video fellow New Zealander! Looking forward to playing Persona 3, 4 and 5 all over again next week (even though I have a huge backlog!) Totally agree JRPGs are fairly niche here and can be difficult to track down physical copies. I managed to get the Persona 5 Royal Phantom Thieves Edition a few days early from MightyApe when it came out as it its release was a few days after when we went into the very first lockdown, which I was super grateful for as I had a massive JRPG to last me through that time!

I'm a longtime fan of Persona (and the larger Shin Megami Tensei series). This is a fantastic collector's edition. I have a Persona 5 hard copy, but as far as Royal goes, I only own a digital version on PS4. Have you heard that Persona 4 Golden is getting a console release. I passed on the Vita, so, I've only ever played Persona 4 vanilla

May you have lots of great surprises and happenings in 2023 and I hope you can keep making all these videos on interesting games ~ as a JRPG fan it's a blessing really! Secondly: agreed that one can't have enough of Persona (lol) and I actually quite like this box! It's a card with a redeemable cosplay coat, and a controller and charger with some really cool skins and I would absolutely love all of these if I had an Xbox. But I don't so I would take the coat at least lol. Your P5 merch are so cool too. Thanks for sharing your insights and help promote the series!!

My bf and I have a total of 5 copies of P5 and P5 royal combined -_- needless to say, we love the series. So happy Royal is portable on the switch. Also, love your channel and am always excited to see a new video upload!
