Galliano was one of the best Dior's designer ever. After he was sacked there was nothing. Saddle bag was his brilliant invention. Even after 20 years of prison you have right to get back to life.

Going to defend Galliano here. I think he is reformed and not the same man he was at Dior in the old days. Getting fired was the best thing that could have happened to him since it forced him into ‘counseling’ (which I suspect is code for rehab and badly needed mental health care). He has made apologies for the antisemitic comments and other behavior that seem sincere to me- which doesn’t erase what happened but still counts for something. The problem with Galliano today, to put it bluntly, are his mental health challenges. I’m concerned about him taking on a job at a big house because I’m not sure he can handle that level of stress. He is a great designer but I think he needs a protective environment to flourish (which he won’t find at LVMH). Edit: on second thought, maybe I’m being uncharitable about his mental health. There were obvious issues during the old Dior years but that was a long time ago and mental health care has improved since then. I have doubts but maybe he is ready to return. I hope it’s a success 🤞

As long as he stays out of Dior, I don't care. I love Dior as it is now, Maria Grazia is doing a fantastic job. She is highly recognized in the professional world and among customers, regardless of what Viedo Dreher spreads about her work

Okay listen here Child who is probably very WOKE. Dior and several other houses are dying because these designers of today 6:38 don't have the spark to catch our attention. Sweat shops have been around for years and all brands at some point have had a concern or 2. It's wrong yes. However fashion needs a spark again... If not him who. Did any of us care about the cost of a Chanel bag 10 6 or 5 years ago. NO and why because everyone wanted a piece of Karl not Chanel. Knowing he designed the jacket or shoes or dress. That is why we bought it. These houses are only as good as the Designer.

Anyone who has looked a little bit into Dior's latest collections should know the background. The fall/winter collection under the responsibility of Maria Grazia Chiuri includes some strikingly labeled objects. But there are also a lot of very elegant pieces of clothing without that. The leopard print has two reasons: reference to previous collections (motto of the collection) and current fashion trends. It's a shame to badmouth Dior so much and still make money with it. I'm a Dior customer and if you don't like the price, you shouldn't buy it. Nobody has to buy here. No, not everyone who makes Dior is exploited. A nasty campaign against Dior by some small video makers.

I really enjoyed your analysis, especially because it's explicitly coming from a supportive and human perspective. I truly believe that Galliano's time at Dior is over. However, what we have of the facts was an indiscretion committed by him in the past, at a time when he was at the limit of his psychological structures and, perhaps, he doesn't even really agree with the sad statements he uttered in an enraged moment. I believe that at Maison Margiela he found a second chance, a space to express himself and redeem himself, artistically, letting his work speak for itself. After all, we all want talent to define the artist. And I believe that the return to Dior will bring all these problems to the surface again. Thank you for your analysis.

@@russ6362 some truth there. but keep in mind his contemporary and close friend Lee McQueen had just violently killed himself. I think he just couldn't deal and wanted to rage even if it meant self-destruction was his coping mechanism. Everyone has said something they regret while drunk. Doesn't diminish the man's talent.

@@DalelSmith yes I’ve said things when I’m drunk…it’s usually my true feelings that I’ve bottled up for a while. Oh, Dior.. My first purchase ever, I did a buy online-pick up in store. I don't know why. Maybe to scope out the store without the pressure? I thought it would be easier to be in and out and go. Well.. I don't know what people are talking about when they say they have good store experiences-- the security at the door was nicer than the SA I spent a few moments with picking up my item. Haven't decided if I want to go back in the store again, or just stick with online.

His antiseptic comments were obviously horrible and had consequences but can someone really be hold accountable for nonsense said while on influence of substances… give him some peace. Definitely he had some design highlights and lows. Let’s see what happens next.

Add the same tired hairstyle and signature sunglasses that hide her tired, rinse and repeat ABSENT FASHION SENSE TO THE MIX and you have an editor in chief of an industry going the way of the dinosaur. Love Galliano though. He may be the only soul who can breathe life into Dior's completely based design lines. I think he deserves a second chance. His talent is undeniable. His artistry is unparallelled. Dior has been in a hole since he left AND THEIR COLLECTIONS HAVE BEEN SHITE! JS...
