Hydrogen Peroxide
The literature contains several accounts of the properties, germicidal effectiveness, and potential uses for stabilized hydrogen peroxide in the health-care setting. Published reports ascribe good germicidal activity to hydrogen peroxide and attest to its bactericidal, virucidal, sporicidal, and fungicidal properties 653-655. (Tables 4 and 5) The FDA website lists cleared liquid chemical sterilants and high-level disinfectants containing hydrogen peroxide and their cleared contact conditions.
Microbicidal Activity.
Hydrogen peroxide is active against a wide range of microorganisms, including bacteria, yeasts, fungi, viruses, and spores 78, 654. A 0.5% accelerated hydrogen peroxide demonstrated bactericidal and virucidal activity in 1 minute and mycobactericidal and fungicidal activity in 5 minutes 656.
A 7% stabilized hydrogen peroxide proved to be sporicidal (6 hours of exposure), mycobactericidal (20 minutes), fungicidal (5 minutes) at full strength, virucidal (5 minutes) and bactericidal (3 minutes) at a 1:16 dilution when a quantitative carrier test was used 655.
Other studies demonstrated the antiviral activity of hydrogen peroxide against rhinovirus. The time required for inactivating three serotypes of rhinovirus using a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution was 6-8 minutes; this time increased with decreasing concentrations (18-20 minutes at 1.5%, 50-60 minutes at 0.75%).

Great tips, as always. Stay safe. I use peroxide in the laundry, soaking for 15 minutes, for a disinfectant. Since it's diluted it works well on colors also. My normal DIY disinfectant cleaner is 1/2 spray bottle of white vinegar, one half bottle of water, a few drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid and 30 drops of lemon essential oil.

In USA we are OUT of rubbing alcohol, 50% to 91% .... I got the last bottle some time ago. Have used it sparingly along with aloe vera gel. We are also out of Vitamin C. I hope we can all get thru this and that some people out there stop hoarding. Stores in our Community are putting limits on certain products. Our check out personnel at the grocery stores have plastic shields to protect them. Grateful for all those people out there who do NOT have the option of staying at home. Keep Well. So please take this as advice not as criticism: in the sequence of soaping the hands and using sanitizer one needs to wash/sanitize the backs of knuckles, between fingers, fingertips, thumbs, under nails, not just palms...the 20 second rule also applies. I have used peroxide for years but no longer use it on my dogs. It will bleach their hair and is damaging to skin. It is also given to dogs to make them vomit. It works great around the house and creates heat when foaming up which gets off things that have become dried and hard.

Baking soda (with or without apple cider vinegar) is also a great cleaner. It also doubles as a topical antihistamine (especially when used as a paste... think of calamine lotion but runnier for a bathing solution, and thicker for sites of bites or stings). Also, try getting sage, thyme, rosemary, and basically any other edible herb (a couple of cups worth) you have in your garden and putting it in a big pot, bring it to the boil and simmer it down for a while, drain/strain the liquid which can be used straight. The good thing, especially for dogs, is that it shouldn’t be too offensive to their olfactory senses, mainly because it’s all natural and smells of their home environment 🙂 xxxoooxxx ❤️

Hi I'm over the pond in England and I've been watching your very useful vlogs and I have used your tips and tricks to help my little Shih Tzu Gizmo 😁 he had itchy skin even though he was washed regularly and treated for fleas ect. Very helpful, subbed and shared💕 I'm hoping you can advise me please: We have a beautiful approx 16 yr old large gray rescue cat named Socrates who has been scratching and licking himself- really over grooming himself to the point he has lots of little scabs on his back near his tail etc. We also have another 11 yr old rescue cat and 5 yr old daschund mix- another rescue:-) We use wondercide for flea prevention & comb them daily to check for fleas; none, no eggs. Maybe mites? Can you advise a natural, safe solution for this majestic, sweet old guy? Thank you😻

D Christina: If you are in Canada, look up “Melissa’s Aloe Vera” website (I think that they are in Crystal Beach, Ontario) and order this pet gel/lotion online. I have used it for 15 years or so on dogs and cats ~ it’s never failed my household and I swear by it. This product is superior to ALL of the other aloe vera products in the pet store. If that doesn’t fix kitty’s skin then the underlying condition needs to be discovered by a vet, preferably a holistic vet if you can afford one. This isn’t medical advice to you. I am just an ordinary layman who is sharing my personal 45 years of experience having household pets with various skin conditions. Oh! Forgot to mention this .... do no worry about your kitty ingesting this brand of aloe vera product as it is also given to animals orally. My five cats ‘loved it’ whenever I needed to administer to them aloe vera treatment. Please only order from this one company though as when I phoned them and asked, “Why does your product work better than the other market brands that I tried?” they replied that they are very selective in the aloe vera plants which they purchase and make their gel product from. A trick that I used for the cats who hate getting wet; I would apply Melissa’s Aloe Gel while grooming or stroking my pets, but, be sure that it’s at room temperature as the gel needs to be refrigerated once the seal is broken. Sounds like a Flea Allergy. Please check/treat for fleas, then secondary allergy treatment. Chlortripolon short term is a good option

Thank you for sharing 👏 The problem is in our area there is no Alcohol of any kind, no peroxide of any kind, no Castile soap, no antibacterial soap, no hand sanitizer, no toilet paper, no paper towels , no Kleenex . And if you can find any these products on line like Amazon the price just for 8 oz can break the bank. Your channel is so much fun 👍👍 Stay and healthy 👍👍

Ideally give as little as possible- as in no prednisone. It can cause increased drinking/urination, increased eating, hair loss, increase chance of diabetes, immune suppression
