I’ll be honest, I never really understood what the point was in having a different thumb throttle until I saw you able to lock it in different positions. Now I want one!

Even without its 3 preset positions I would still run the throttle. Having the ability to lock down the thumb portion in whatever position you want on the shaft is really nice. Plus I actually really like how the textured part feels and the housing looks really good on the bars compared to the factory one 👍

@@Lil_Lowered_TDI , The honda throttles are working good for me. You can pick one up from ebay from 25 to 30 bucks. The last ones that i grabbed where from a 400EX. You do have to shave down the inside limiter to allow the carbs to open fully.

I remember in the '80s that twist throttle conversions were all the rage for ATVs (3 wheelers in those days). Are twist throttles still popular now for quads? I have to ask, because I'm a motorcycle guy and when I ride a quad or a sled, I really don't dig the thumb throttle at all.

Glackand Bold throttles styles definitely come down to personal preference. I know there’s a handful of guys who run twist throttles on quads but the majority of people I see are running a thumb throttle. As long as your comfortable that’s all that matters 👍

I recently bought a "magura" hydraulic clutch for my yfz. I sugest you try it. I onlt have 4 or 5 rides on it so far but as long as it doesnt blow out I'll never go back to a cable again.

Michael Horning my old KTM came with a magura hydraulic clutch. It was super smooth. I actually don’t mind the cable clutch clutch set up. Maybe someday that conversion will be done but I have a lot of other parts to get first 👍

@@PeteHager ok. How well did it last? It seems to be a quality setup. I had to replace the whole clutch assembly. I chose a wiseco setup. I went with the hydraulic setup because i kept breaking cables after i changed the clutch springs.

Michael Horning I had upwards to 300 hours on that clutch and never had any issues on the KTM. I did go through 2 top ends and 2 bottom ends in that time tho😅🤦♂️

Most people say these have a very smooth push. I’ve never had any thumb fatigue while using an Urmosi throttle. The other popular option I see people recommending is Honda TRX90 throttles for a smoother push 👌👍

I would assume it's because it would be too thumb fatiguing since they tend to ride at more consistent speeds. A lot of desert and endurance atv riders run a twist throttle for that reason because they're riding for many hours at a time 👍

PH Outdoors 450’s are a lot of fun but they don’t like a ton of hours. If you want easy maintenance and even longer reliability you may want to go the 400 route. Otherwise a raptor 700 is perfect for ditch riding. It loves the higher speeds and has tons of torque for ditch wheelies! Ditch riding was one of the main reasons I picked the Raptor. A 450 would work fine but it may need top end work sooner than other models👍

I know they had done more custom colors in the past but they recently changed to diamondyze coating. Apparently it’s a more durable form of anodizing and is a bit more expensive. They do have leftover non threaded throttles for can-am, Kawasaki, Suzuki in gold or pink. It would be best to call if your curious about any colors aside from blue, red, or black👍

Ernesto Castillon I’m going to be updating mine with the factory model soon. He just finished his first production run of the factory in Red. When it arrives I can do a short comparison. The factory model is made of a higher quality aluminum, has 4 thumb lever locking screws instead of 2, and it comes with a lifetime warranty.

The Factory Edition throttle comes with a lifetime warranty, it's made from a higher grade aluminum, and it has extra locking screws on the throttle shaft. It's definitely more racing focused. If your just a regular rec rider like me then the original throttle should work just fine! 😊

jake darlak I have no problem with bikes. I just have very limited experience riding them so it wouldn’t be any fun to watch. When I get the opportunities I’ll rip with bikes but they’re way faster than quads so it’s hard to keep up 😆 Robert rips his Husqvarna in the next vid!

big red that 20% off saves you almost $60 on the factory model with a lifetime warranty. I know it’s expensive but its a quality product. I definitely would miss it if it was gone. If your not sold on the idea then wait until my next ride video when I use it for the first time to decide 👍
